I just received the files from my recent publication with Artells Magazine. This is their January 2025 portrait issue. Shay & I may not have the cover image, but we have the 2nd article. These images were an unplanned part of the shoot, and yet, I couldn't get over how awesome they turned out. We had been talking about getting out of toxic relationships just before stumbling upon this spot in the park. Shay had written a little piece for the magazine to use. Unfortunately, that didn't make it into print. I am including it here.
"Toxic Chains

Splashing through the flooded puddles of tears–the foundation of our relationship. My feet become stuck in your muddy mind. Clasp. You wrapped chains around my frail wrists and as they bruised, you tied them tighter. Each link you forged out of darkness and fire. They burn me as they wrap around not only my wrists, but my neck, my thighs, my ankles. There I was. A tiny flame, fighting to stay lit. You tried to put me out. Deprived me of oxygen. You collected my tears and poured them on the little flicker of light that was left of me. But I finally let the tears quench my thirst. I found my breath and I took the air deep into my lungs. My little flame grew brighter, taller, wider. I fed my flame with passion and spirit, love and beauty. And it flourished into the brightest fire, melting the chains you bound me with. I broke free."
