Hey everyone! It’s been a few months since I shared that I was stepping back from photography for a while, and I wanted to hop on and give a quick update.

For anyone who had previously purchased a session and has been waiting for me to open my schedule back up, now is the time! I’ll be booking those sessions from May through September.

All pre-purchased sessions will absolutely be honored within that timeframe. Refunds will not be offered, as there has been an extended period of time and multiple opportunities to schedule these sessions.

After September, I’m planning to set my camera down for a while.

I’m wrapping up my final sessions, and it’s settling in just how big this moment really is. For 10 years, I’ve chased the sunset almost every single night. It became the backdrop of my life — loading the car, grabbing my camera, running out the door right as the sky turned gold.

I’ve watched families grow through my lens. I’ve captured once-in-a-lifetime moments, the kind that went viral or made people cry or laugh or hold their breath. And somehow along the way, 23.4K of you followed this journey — something I never imagined when I first started.

This business became so much bigger than I ever expected. I’m grateful beyond words that I became successful enough to stay fully booked — to the point where this past year, I had a session nearly every single night.

And if you’ve been here a while, you know I gave it everything I had. I shot sessions at 38, 39, even 40 weeks pregnant. One of those nights I went into labor, and three days later I was back shooting sunflower photos. That happened three different times. I don’t know whether to call it dedication or delusion — probably both — but that’s how much I loved this work. How deeply I wanted to show up for the people who showed up for me.

But chasing sunsets for everyone else also meant missing a lot of my own. Missing evenings with my kids. Missing slow nights at home. Missing the tiny, ordinary things I always thought I’d have more time for.

Ten years is a long time to give so much of yourself to something. And somewhere along the way, I realized my family deserves a version of me who isn’t always packing up to leave right when the day gets quiet.

I’m proud of what I built. I’m proud of the moments I was trusted to catch — the wildly imperfect ones, the emotional ones, the viral ones, the fleeting ones that will never happen quite the same way again. And I’m endlessly thankful for every family, every message, every session, every ounce of support that helped this dream grow.

But now… it’s time to come home a little more. To watch my own sunsets. To be present in my own moments.

Right now I truly cannot keep up with texts, emails, editing, and shooting — messages are getting lost, and calling is the only way I’ll see it.

I’ve been fully booked for Fall/Christmas for quite a while, so I cannot take on any extra Fall or Christmas sessions. There are simply no openings left.

I can schedule sessions for January through Summer.

Reminders:
• Outdoor sessions are always 30 minutes before sunset (currently about 4:30 PM).
• Studio sessions must be booked by the client, since I no longer have a studio.

This has without a doubt been the busiest season of my entire life—and I’m so grateful for every single one of you who continues to trust me with your family’s memories.

I’ve been editing late into the night and pretty much every available moment I have and wrapping up as many sessions as humanly possible. A large batch of galleries will be heading out today and tomorrow, so if you’re waiting on yours, keep an eye on your email for your gallery delivery. I promise—every gallery is coming. I can only work so fast, but I’m giving it absolutely everything I’ve got to get them to you as soon as possible. Thank you so much for your patience and kindness.

I also want to gently remind everyone that my schedule has been fully booked through December for quite some time. I opened my calendar last December so everyone would have the chance to grab their sessions early, knowing that fall and Christmas always fill up quickly. Then, this past spring, I opened up the remaining fall dates and encouraged everyone to book their spot as soon as possible. On top of that, I announced 4 Fall & Christmas Mini dates, giving pre-paid sessions the first opportunity to book before opening them up to everyone else.

I’ve been getting a huge number of texts and messages, and while I truly try my best to respond to everyone, messaging back and forth has become a full-time job in itself. To help me keep everything organized, please use the booking link you were originally sent for any bookings or reschedules.

If you’re having trouble with the link, please give me a call instead of texting or messaging—it’s the quickest way to make sure we can get things sorted without messages getting buried.

I announced earlier this year that I’ll be stepping away from photography after December. This has been such a meaningful chapter of my life, and this decision wasn’t easy, but it’s the right one for my family and for the season of life we’re in.

That said, this does NOT affect any sessions already pre-purchased. If you need to reschedule due to weather or life happening, I will still honor those sessions through summer 2026. So if we need to shift dates, don’t worry—you’re still covered.

Thank you for showing up for me year after year, for the kind messages, the grace, and for letting me capture so many special moments for your families. You’ve been such a big part of my story. 🫶

✨ Important Announcement ✨
After 10 years of doing photography full time, I’ll be taking a break after Christmas for the foreseeable future.

Photography has been such a blessing and creative outlet for me. But as new business ventures pull at my heart and the constant balance of family, I’ve felt stretched in too many directions. I’ve realized it’s starting to take a toll on me mentally.

This isn’t a full goodbye. I don’t anticipate fully hanging up my camera. I’ll still take on sessions that truly feed my creative soul, and I could never walk away from the families who have been with me since the very beginning. If you’re one of my “day one” clients, please still reach out for your milestone sessions—I want to keep growing with you.

Most importantly, thank you to every single family who has trusted me with your memories and special moments over the years. It’s been an honor to capture them.
