It is officially Milky Way season! Made it back out to the Upper Fall River Church over the weekend with friends for a surprisingly cold night of astrophotography.

Night 2 of the Northern Lights the other night was sadly not as much of a show as we all hoped it would be. My friend Chuck and I went out to Mushroom State Park. It was still a beautiful night and was able to get a few good shots. Also, I caught a meteor in my milky way shot!

Went out to a sunflower field near our house a few nights ago to capture the sunset with the sunflowers. It turned out to be a pretty nice sunset. 🌻🌞

I think this might be one of my new favorites I have ever taken. A few nights ago, I finally got to go out under some clear skies and see the milky way for the first time this year. My friend Chuck new of this old schoolhouse up in northern Kansas so it made the perfect subject!

It has been a hot minute since I have been out shooting. I was hoping to get out to do some astrophotography last night however mother nature said nope! My friend Chuck and I went up to Cedar Point, KS to photograph this old mill and found a handful of other fun things to shoot. It was lightning but not much cloud to ground but still illuminated the sky nicely. We will likely go back to this location in the future for some astrophotography.

The photo with the old mill building is a composite of 3 shots. One for the sky, one for the mill and trees and one for the water. It is hard to tell but I used a neutral density filter for the water, which allowed me to take a longer exposure and get the water to have more of a smooth appearance without completely over-exposing the shot. Sadly the water was pretty gross but you can kind of see the smoothness around the big log in the water.

The 2nd image of the school and the merry-go-round is a long exposure of 20 seconds and I spun the merry-go-round before starting the photo so its spinning in the photo. Thought that was a fun additional to the shot.

Now that it isn't negative degree temps outside, my buddy Chuck and I went out for some much needed astrophotography a few nights ago. The little silo reminds me of a can of green beans! 😆
It was a beautiful night. Also, I am so ready for Milky Way season!

It has been a hot minute since I have went out to do some astrophotography! I was itching to get out to do some shooting with the winter constellations. My buddy Chuck and I went out to Coronado Heights in Lindsborg to enjoy some beautiful skies.

Soaking in the Milky Way while we still can. I went out to El Dorado Lake a few nights ago with my coworker, Chuck! The first location we went there was lots of light pollution from El Dorado. There was also a boat on the water with very bright lights shining our way. We still got a good view of the Milky Way. I have a few others from the night that I will share soon as well.

Went to Teter Rock a few nights ago with a few friends. The milky way was glowing bright. It was such a beautfiul night!
