Good morningggg! We're in the start of our TENTH year homeschooling and while we're grieving big sis (okay more me than the boys) being big and doing her own thing it's yet another adjustment. Our foster babe officially went home Sunday. Anyone just get weary of change? Whew - I'm not sure I could even handle doing anything other than snuggling babiessss. So, I'll be here until I die. Ha, but can't we agree it's the best job??

I don't photograph weddings often, but when I do I shoot them days apart... May will be lots of wedding cheer! (and fun fact the brides are sisters! 🥂)

I hope I'm decent with a camera, but THIS is photography for me. These relationships. Witnessing first breaths. Watching these littles grow. Freezing time to preserve memories. I will never get over families trusting this old dino of a woman to photograph their families!

How is little E ⓢⓔⓥⓔⓝ?! It feels like just yesterday I was witnessing SKIN-TO-SKIN in the OR (not in Wichita, sadly).

I loved every second of this mini sesh (she did too and didn't want to stop modeling!).
Also, how old is too old to still be a photographer? Asking for a friend.

If only we could lay in a field of flowers and have someone wipe us - would be glorious. Bahahhaaa..

This mama has been so generous in supporting the church plant! As you may have read we have no fancy startup budget, haven't fundraised, and of the "normal" things because we tend to do things that are crazy, don't look like everyone else and involve a lot of faith. We are mostly in need of rugs (concrete floors hello) if anyone has any looking to purge! When the baby isn't the baby anymore! This mama rocks this whole motherhood thing with lots of grace - so happy for them! Yes, we "know how this happens" and that her "hands are full". IYKYK.

Well we have one off to middle school in uniforms, about to start our homeschool year (two 8th graders, one 6th grader and one Kinder), prepping for the church plant, about to start theatre life for two, soccer for one, transitioning our toddler back to bio fam this weekend... never a dull moment in motherhood around here! (baby factory is closed for business though ha, hallelujah)

Whatever your season may God be glorified in it as we get one shot at this whole life thing! 🩵

Hellloooo!

As many of you know our family has been THROUGH. IT. the past couple of years. Which, all makes sense considering this guy has been in the processing of planting a church here in the Wichita area! (off Santa Fe lake to be exact)

We've noticed a trend of people walking away from the church (sadly, it's adults!) and it breaks our hearts. We know a GOOD GOOD father and want everyone to know Him too - no matter your background or struggles. Without my faith I don't know where I'd be. I'd probably be an addict with kids in the system just like how I grew up and our marriage certainly wouldn't have made it.

What do you have to lose? We all die and rot in a box anyway. My faith has pushed me to love and serve better. It gives me a sense of peace and freedom that's nearly indescribable. Is it easy every day? Heck no. But I have a hope to cling to, and I'm so grateful.

We'd love to share more info soon if you are 1) looking for a church home 2) want to give this faith thing a try (10/10 recommend) 3) want to support a new, local church either financially and/or prayerfully.

We don't have a fancy startup budget or a huge congregation. We're acting in FAITH and knowing the Lord will provide. And, we could use your help! Well it's like the bandaid that's been ripping off slowly, hair by hair, for the past year. Our baby isn't going home this week any longer as expected so we'll get another 1.5 weeks with him (in between his home visits). Glad I cried myself to sleep the last 2 nights rocking him to sleep for nothing.

Anywayyyy on a happier note, this mama rocks the whole boy mom thing and we just celebrated their youngest turning one on the most humid night of all time. His expressions are the. best.

You might cry yourself to sleep for other reasons--overstimulated, low energy, feeling of failure/despair, marriage problems, betrayal, loss, loneliness... but there is 𝕁𝕆𝕐 𝕚𝕟 𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝕞𝕠𝕣𝕟𝕚𝕟𝕘. So thankful for that!

Our family just returned from a 10 day Utah trip with sore feet (hiking 30 combined miles) and full hearts.

After a 2+ year fostering journey we'll send our baby back to his bio parents this week and pray for the best. What we know is God is sovereign and we are so thankful for that because our hearts would continually lead us astray.

Our oldest foster daughter (and bio to the baby) will be staying with us for the time being as she prepares and works through some things before returning home. Grieving a baby while caring for his sister? Whew.

This vacation was good for our souls - just the OG five again after years of foster care taking up so much space in our home - workers, appointments, therapies, public school schedules, parent visits, case plans, court dates, the emotional ups and downs, behaviors... and with this one came attacks from the bio family, DCF calls/allegations, slandering, lies, and lots of hurt. But grace, forgiveness, mercy... Because our Father gave those to us when we are SO undeserving.

We're not sure what the future holds in our fostering journey but for now we'll take space and just be us 7 again (with one basically grown and doing her own thing, wahhhh). We'll work on processing, healing and surrendering because HIS way is better. 🖤
