Weather!💨⛈️ guys… if I could plan sunny and 70 with a gentle breeze you know I would. However, this is Kansas and she’s a moody gal. This is also why I love her. 😆 If you have a session for this weekend know I’m watching the weather and will be in contact. Please don’t panic if we have to reschedule! We will make something work!!!

Summer! ☀️Between kids being home and game schedules and all the weekends please know my evening availability especially on the weekends is minimal! May is full! June has morning times outdoor and studio sessions available still. It’s the outdoor evenings that are hard.

I have an idea in mind, just to build community time and get my mamas out of the house. 🫶🏻
If I planned something short and sweet and invited all my lady clientele is something you y’all would be interested in? You can bring your mama, your sisters, your auntie, your neighbor, whoever you’d like!
We wouldn’t be shooting photos together, but we would be spending time with other ladies, and just enjoying each other‘s presence. I’m thinking something outside with a drink or two and a low-key “craft“.

Keep in mind I’m just brainstorming but it’s something I really want to try and do!
Want to have a successful mini session? 🫶🏻 let’s lay the cards out.
1.) Book your time when you know your kids will be happiest. If that means babies is happy in the morning, you book in the morning. Don’t forget your kids water or a bribery snack. I have a few but some kids are picky!
2.) Outfits and hair matter! Look for fun accessories that don’t draw away from your subject. 🤠 Make sure nails are clean or done! 💅
3.) Be on time and respectful of your session length.
4.) Remind the kids how fun these are!!! These are memories for your walls! Tell the kids how much it means to you to have art of them in your house.
5.) Show your photographer Some social media love. Tag them and share them ❤️

I have been slammed with cake smash sessions lately and I don’t mind! They are so incredibly fun but I must admit they are a good chunk of work. The time I spend in studio capturing a baby is about 30-45 minutes but there’s about 4 hours of work that go into these session before and after session time not including communications with the parent.
Details like ordering and picking up your cake. Setting out the proper props for your session obviously setting it all up and making sure it matches, taking it down and disinfecting it. Then, of course because we’ve had cake, there’s the cleanup of the floor and the props…and sometimes the walls 😊
I wouldn’t trade it any of it! The pictures themselves are worth the time and effort.

I know I say I love babies to be in the studio around 7 days old but the reality is that isn’t how it always goes. Babies have their own schedules! We just go off of what everyone needs- not just baby- momma too. I have been working like an elf all last night and again today to get everyone’s holiday images out as quickly as possible! It was a wonderful first weekend! So many sweet faces!!! Love getting a private concert during a senior session! All my seniors are important but this year has hit hard with all the babies that were just babies…I swear they were just babies. 🥲
You guys… I have had this waiting all day for my kids to come and shoot it! Tomorrow they will get to shoot Cozy Christmas when they get home…. And then I’m hoping to shoot their fall photos next week. They are absolutely going to hate me!!! But I’m pumped!

There’s nothing like a fresh little baby. They are the closest we ever get to heaven on earth. They only look like a newborn baby for at max a few weeks. These moments are such a small blip in time. Capturing them this tiny allows you to look back and remember the weight of their tiny frame in your arms. You remember how all they wanted were snuggles. And oh goodness…..the smell of the top of their head. 😍🫣Every second they are growing and changing!
