Tennis Day Date 🎾

There aren’t many things I get to teach the hubs BUT today I finally got my chance, it was actually so much fun for us both! We are pickleball lovers and play when we can BUT in high school tennis was one of my favorite pastimes!

After we accidentally left the pickleball bag at home, we chose to try something new and grabbed some cheap rackets! It’s safe to say we have a new fun thing to practice at together!

I happened to have my camera in the car and decided to practice some harsh sun photos, which are secretly my favorite🀫, safe to say I’ll be taking my camera along more often in our every day adventures!

I get caught up photographing everyone else that I often forget to take advantage of this artform for my own memories! Such a fun time today, feeling so grateful for the fun but little things! πŸ’›

Some photos just deserve their own post. 🌷This is one of those.

After Merritt’s 3-week session in her precious nursery, I sat with these images and knew they couldn’t just live in the gallery or lost in a post with the rest of the images.

Catherine has been the most delightful mom to photograph, and her fresh 48 photos? Straight out of a magazine.

I say this all the time in my posts, but I’ll say it again: what an honor it is to document these fleeting seasons of life. Here’s the thing: you will never regret booking these photos. BECAUSE one day, long after we’re gone, it’s the photographs that whisper our story. They’re what ground the generations who come after us.

Motherhood is beautiful. Life is beautiful. This art is beautiful.

First 48’s have become my new obsession… for the obvious reasons because oh my goodness how cute!!! BUT also for the not so obvious reasons… πŸ‘‡πŸ½

First 48 sessions are not for everyone- and understandably so. Inviting a photographer in who you’ve probably never met before into a world of new, raw, and overwhelming love and healing can be a lot.

Yes, my approach to them is always with gentleness and care, but it’s still a vulnerable time. For the ones who do invite me into these moments, THANK YOU πŸ’Œ

I don’t take this lightly and I feel so overwhelmed with gratitude with every new precious baby I meet and every new mom who’s just exhibited so much strength…

Moms. The reason the world grows, and the source of humanity. What an amazing gift it is to be trusted with the blessing of motherhood.

Walking through my own fertility journey, I’ve grown to respect women who’ve walked through pregnancy and motherhood in a new way. The strength of a woman when it comes to motherhood is unmatched and truly the greatest miracle that the Lord works out.

This session with Katie, just seeing her walk through pregnancy and becoming a new mother is so beautiful, and her and Connor are already the most amazing parents to sweet Bennett! 🩡

Happy Mother’s Day to and ALL of the mothers out there today! Both with sweet babies that are born or with Jesus, you’re honored, loved, and are a true encouragement to me!

We welcomed sweet baby Lance into the world almost 1 month ago! He is every bit of perfection and sweetness. πŸ₯ΉπŸ©΅

There are no words to express how much of a joy this senior session brought to my heart and busy season! To know Maddie is to love and admire her beauty, her spirit, kindness, determination, and intelligence. πŸ’—

My favorite part of her story is the order of her priorities- God at the top and center at all that she does. We incorporated her Bible during this session, and when I saw it- it made perfect sense why. It was falling apart, well loved and used. A visual representation of just how much she truly invites the Lord in at all times.

She will be attending MS State and has been competing for a spot for Valedictorian: an amazing accomplishment in and of itself. I know will go so far with the Lord on her side! I can’t tell you how happy it makes me to see these rising young adults declare that God is Lord over the seasons of life they’re entering into.

It brings this business of mind full circle in that it reminds me that being behind the camera is worshipful. πŸ“Έ

I can’t stop thinking about the direction portrait photography is moving in… and honestly, I’m here for it 🀍

Less stiff posing, more real experience.
Less β€œsay cheese,” more genuine connection.

Sessions where kids literally forget there’s a camera involved. When moms get to pause and just be. When dads relax into the moment instead of performing for it.

This is where portraits stop feeling forced… and start becoming memories.

Not the kind we say are meaningfulβ€”but the kind you can actually feel.

You can almost hear these giggles and feel the warmth through the screen. πŸ₯°

This seaside moment wasn’t planned. I met this sweet mom and daughter at sunset right after a session, asked if I could capture them just as they wereβ€”and she said yes.

What unfolded was effortless, joyful, and so full of life 🌊✨
Timeless, yet modern. Unposed, yet deeply intentional.

This is what I want more of:
Play over perfection.
Prompting over posing.
Creating over copying.

Your session should be a memory in itselfβ€”not just something that documents one.
