Some sessions just feel like summer, and Taylor's was exactly that. 🌼 We spent the evening wandering through the wildflowers, soaking up the golden light, and it couldn't have been a more perfect backdrop for her senior portraits.
Taylor, a senior at Scouts Catholic, was such a joy to photograph. She brought such a calm, genuine smile to every part of her session, and these dreamy Nebraska wildflowers were the perfect setting to celebrate such an exciting season of life.

A little hello from the girl behind the camera. 👋

If you're new around here, I'm Kelsey!

The face behind Dirt Road Photography and someone who genuinely believes the little moments in life are usually the ones worth remembering most.

A few things that make me... me:

🌾 I'm happiest outside, especially during a Nebraska sunset.

📚 You'll almost always find me listening to an audiobook while editing or binge watching anything docuseries or Gillmore Girls.

🌱 This summer I've been loving slow mornings, working in my garden, and getting way too excited over the first veggies of the season.

❤️ Family is everything to me, and some of my favorite days are the simple ones spent with the people I love.

📸 And after photographing seniors and families for more than a decade, I still get butterflies before every session.

Because every family has a story.

Every senior is standing on the edge of a brand new chapter.

And getting to preserve those moments is something I'll never take for granted.

One of my favorite things about senior sessions is getting to photograph seniors in places that mean something to them. ❤️

For Ambry, that meant heading out to her family's farm.

We wandered through the beautiful wildflowers growing in the pasture, spent time with her horses, and of course, made sure her sweet pup got in a few photos too.
Those personal touches are what make a senior gallery truly unique.

Your senior session should tell your story.

Maybe that's your family farm.

Maybe it's the football field.

Maybe it's your horse, your truck, your dog, or your favorite place to watch the sunset.

After photographing seniors for more than a decade, I've noticed a few common mistakes pop up over and over again.

The good news?

They're all easy to avoid.

👉 Waiting too long to book
👉 Thinking you need to know how to pose
👉 Choosing outfits at the last minute
👉 Only thinking about digitals
👉 Trying to make your session look like everyone else's

The truth is, the best senior sessions aren't the most Pinterest-perfect ones.

They're the sessions that feel authentic.

Senior photos shouldn't feel stressful.
