I heard another tragic story today of a wedding photographer loosing a couples’ wedding photos…. And while freak accidents do happen, a good seasoned wedding photographer will have endless failsafes to make sure this doesn’t happen.

✨Here is my process to ensure all your photos are as safe as possible✨

•There will ALWAYS be 2 backups.
•It starts with writing every photo to 2 cards. A non-negotiable.
•If I stop anywhere on the way home, one set of cards remains in the camera and one set in storage in my purse.
•When home, I backup your photos to an external harddrive and save one set of cards to not be erased until the project is archived.
•When the project is delivered, I archive everything (including your Lightroom catalog) on 2 external harddrives and double check that everything links up and copied correctly before formatting my memory cards.
•Your final delivered photos are stored on my computer, on the cloud, AND stays archived in the your personal gallery, even past gallery expiration. If you need me to re-activate your gallery, I will gladly do so.

I am maybe in the minority here, but I have NEVER ONCE, purposely deleted any RAW photos. But I have had external harddrives and computers crash which is how I have learned my lesson that anything and everything can and while happen eventually.

Holy moly, Sierra and Zach are STARS! They were the winners of my central Wisconsin engagement session giveaway earlier this year and committed to the vision HARD! Complete with a vintage Mustang, cocktails, and old Hollywood vibes, their session was so very Pinterest worthy 🤩 I guess this means I have to finally figure out how to post on there (am I dense or is Pinterest confusing?)

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a million times, being an adventure photographer in Wisconsin is such a gift. I live for couples like Kayla & Ryan that aren’t opposed to getting a little messy and wild to get the perfect shot. You know when your photographer is obsessing over your photos, you did an amazing job trusting the process 😘😘😘😘

🎄How is it ALREADY time to talk about the Holidays? Oh how time flies but I, myself, am totally ready for the coziness of Christmas time and with that, Wisconsin CHRISTMAS TREE FARM MINI PHOTO SESSIONS!!! If all goes well, I will make this an annual event!

When: Saturday, November 21st (more dates will be added if these fill up
Where: Heritage Christmas Tree Farm, Wild Rose, Wisconsin
What: 20 minute sessions | 15 photos | $225 - all galleries will be edited within 2 weeks.
Who: Families, engaged couples, non-engaged couples, besties, mommy and me, and more. Please no professional headshots.

As a Madison, Wisconsin wedding photographer I realize that the clean edit isn’t a big deal for everyone, but when it does matters you don’t even have to ask because it is already done 😘

I now include the polished, clean edit for every couple because that just the kind of care I take with my weddings. It’s all these silent things I do in the background for my clients that they may not even know about that makes a huge difference. And hey, if it doesn’t matter to my clients, it at least matters to me 😉
