Seems from what im reading EBay has gone to pot!

Millions of complaints and no way to address them it seems.

I repeat my warning to you about cameras from Japan. Watch ebay sellers there, A lot of their descriptions are fanciful and they ship junk cameras

Not really camera related but!

Something to put at the back of your mind. The place where you put "what if" stuff.

Books where the number one greatest inventions of humans. The recording and spreading of knowledge.

The 2nd greatest invention is the MOSFET. (metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistor)

This device allowed the fabriation of tiny reliable transistors. Your phone has billions of them in it. Yes billions!
Some chips the size of a quarter have 200 billion mosfet transistors in them.

The spread of electronics has changed our world and the way we do things. Knowledge is freely avaiable from phones computers etc (good and bad stuff)
OUR WORLD RUNS ON ELECTRONICS.

But all this comes at a risk.
A mosfet transister works by having a thin film of material that seperates two parts of the thing. (Simple explanation)
A large voltage can destroy that layer by puncturing holes in it.
Thats why they are handled in a static free workplace. Your hand will destroy it with just a tiny static charge from your nylon shirt!
To get more on a chip the thin layers of course got smaller.

It is well known the sun chucks nasty stuff our way during sun spots. (We live in a violent universe you know?)
Sattellites owners shut there gear down when large spots spew stuff out. The rays and s**t that comes our way will damage them. The earths atmosphere sheilds us a bit. But it still effects power grids and stuff. But a big enough event will bombard our tiny rock with damaging rays.
(Sunscreen want help) lol.

If the planet is hit with a strong burst of damaging rays from anywhere those little tiny layers in the transistor will be subject to damaging overloads like a static discharge.

An EMP (electromagnetic pulse) is the number one source of danger. IT WILL DESTROY ALL THE MOSFETS INSTANTLY.

The military found out a nuclear explosion created lots of strong EMP pulses. So they had to 'Case harden' their electronics to protect them from these dangerous energy bursts.
Some avionics in commecial airliners are protected in places against s**t from space. They fly high in the atmosphere so are nearer s**t coming our way.
Agian, Putting sunscreen on when flying want help either. Lol

Now the point of this post. A nuclear explosion 100 miles up above say the US would destroy all those tiny mosfets instantly.
Think about all our electronic equipment being destroyed instantly.

23 bids on this train. non anywhere near what its true value is. There Hoping. trouble is i have seen items sell with lots of bids way below true values. WORK OUT ITS VALUE THEN POST AS BUY NOW. IF THEY DONT LIKE THE PRICE DROP DEAD!!

Gene Hacker had a camera shop. His own camera warranty was for life of the orignal owner!! Yes including wear and tear.

He moved to Florida in the 90's

He was famous for his hat collection!!!
He amased 1,000 of hats from around the world. He would give talks about his hat collection.
