“Light Reading”

I had this idea in my head for a rainy portrait, and one stormy night many years ago I was finally able to give it a try. I rigged a little flash into the frame of an umbrella and set my camera up on a tripod in the house, facing out into the rain. After figuring out the camera settings, I talked a thoroughly confused Kendall into helping me by pushing the button on my camera a few times. She definitely thought I’d lost my mind. After a few frames, I sprinted back inside to see what we had captured. As I uploaded the picture to my computer for sharing, I got that adrenaline rush that I still get whenever I capture something special.
