This is Luz’s story — a story about trusting her instincts, advocating for herself, and refusing to stay silent when she knew something was wrong.

“I was constantly told that if I just lost weight, I’d feel better. But I knew my body, and I knew something wasn’t right.

I felt sluggish even though I had always been full of energy. I experienced bloating for long periods while eating less, sharp abdominal pains, and I suddenly developed a rash between my fingers and knuckles. Yet every appointment seemed to focus only on my weight instead of my symptoms.

Finally, I found an incredible internist who listened. That doctor referred me to a compassionate gynecologist who discovered ovarian cancer at Stage 1.

Someone finally looked beyond the number on the scale and heard what I was saying.

That experience changed me. I promised myself I would encourage others to trust themselves, speak up, and advocate for their health because we know our bodies better than anyone else.

I Picture Hope gave me the opportunity to share my story and showcase the strength it took to persevere, fight to be heard, and never stay quiet.

I know me — and IPH helped me show the world who I am.”

💙 June is Lipedema Awareness Month 💙 In 2025, we continue our commitment to raising awareness about Lipedema — a chronic and often misunderstood condition that primarily affects women.

Lipedema is a disorder of fat distribution that causes painful, disproportionate swelling, most commonly in the legs, hips, and arms. It is not caused by obesity, and it does not improve with diet or exercise. Despite affecting millions, it is frequently misdiagnosed or dismissed, often mistaken for obesity or lymphedema.

Lipedema Awareness Month focuses on improving education, diagnosis, treatment, and research. It’s also about empowering those living with Lipedema by making sure their voices are heard and their experiences are validated.

Let’s shine a light on Lipedema — because awareness leads to understanding, compassion, and better care. 💪

Today, on National Cancer Survivor Day, we celebrate the incredible strength, courage, and resilience of cancer survivors everywhere.

Every survivor’s journey is unique—filled with challenges, victories, hope, and determination. At I Picture Hope, we are honored to meet and photograph individuals and families whose stories remind us that even in life’s most difficult moments, hope continues to shine.

Today, we honor those who have fought, those who continue to fight, and the loved ones who stand beside them every step of the way. Your courage inspires us, your stories matter, and your strength gives hope to others facing similar battles.

To every survivor: we see you, we celebrate you, and we are grateful for the light you bring into the world.

Happy National Cancer Survivor Day. 💜

💛 June is National Cancer Survivor Month 💛
At I Picture Hope, we honor the incredible strength, courage, and resilience of cancer survivors — as well as the unwavering love and support of their families, caregivers, and communities.

This month, we proudly recognize:
💪 Celebrating Survivorship: Honoring those who have faced cancer with bravery, those currently fighting, and those continuing their healing journey.

📚 Raising Awareness: Sharing stories of hope, educating others about the impact of cancer, and connecting survivors and families with valuable resources and support.

🤝 Advocacy & Support: Standing together to promote continued research, improved access to care, mental health support, and comprehensive survivorship services.

Every survivor’s story is a testament to hope, perseverance, and the power of the human spirit. We are honored to help preserve and share these meaningful moments.

This June, let’s come together to celebrate life, resilience, healing, and hope. 💛

We are deeply honored to introduce one of our newest initiatives — Celebrating You: A Portrait Experience - bringing connection, dignity, and joy to nursing home residents.

Through intentional visits, storytelling, and shared moments, our goal is to remind seniors that they are still seen, still valued, and still full of life and meaning.

A simple conversation. A shared laugh. A moment of presence.
Sometimes that’s all it takes to spark hope again.

Seeing people, not circumstances...
Every person carries a story you cannot see at first glance.
Behind every face is resilience, memory, struggle, joy, and survival.

Our mission is simple: to remind people they are seen, valued, and never defined by their hardest days.

Because hope grows when people feel like t
