I can only imagine. A few years ago I was hiking in the mountains depicted in this painting when my son discovered an old buffalo sheath. It was weathered and very old. I couldn't tell him much about the sheath or how it got there. The only information I had was that many years ago buffalo did roam these hills but that was nearly 100 years ago. He has continued to hold on to the sheath and every time I see it, it reminds me of this hike and the many special times with my family.

"And the Thunder Rolls" could be a scene from those days!

I'm not sure a painting is ever finished! After a few months of looking at this painting I felt like the ram in the foreground needed to be replaced. With a smaller ram the whole design feels better but let's see how I feel in a couple weeks!

"Fire and Ice" a small 11x14" artwork headed to Charleston with me. There's something captivating about a red fox's vibrant coat against the winter backdrop.

My studio was flooded along with a couple rooms in our basement. Most of the paintings survived but sheetrock and carpet didn't fair so well.
Now I am starting to get a few paintings ready for the South East Wildlife Expo in February.
"Blue and Gold" (18x24) is a painting of a blue heron that I was able to photograph while in Charleston last year.

"American Legacy" (12x24") I recently watched a documentary on the American bison. I was so impressed by the reverence the Native American people have for the bison. This quote from a tribal leader inspired the name of this painting "To our people, the bald eagle is a great symbol but the bison is our legacy."
