Finding new ways to challenge myself and create a unique image are what make each race weekend unique. This style of shot is something I've been dissecting and trying to reverse engineer for a while now. It took lots of practice and patience to start to get usable images using this method. It's still not perfect and definitely has room for improvement, but I'm quite happy with how it turned out all things considered.

Revisited my album from the 2019 IndyCar GP of Portland. Took a look at many of the shots that I deemed as "throwaways" and found some that made some nice portraits. I've don't edit much in black and white but i'm working on branching out and adding new techniques to my repertoire.

Shooting photos at an auto show is always a bit challenging. The lighting is never optimal, there's always people everywhere, and railings and ropes block most of the vehicles. So I try to shoot a lot of details. Headlights, taillights, badges, etc. help to make for some more interesting shots.
