Some of the lesser talked about USMC birds. The UC-35D (Cessna Citation) used mostly for personnel and sometimes time sensitive cargo transport as well as a myriad of other things.. Two of these are on base at MCAS Cherry Point known as callsign LOBO.

Take note of the last image....this is very important! . It's a good time to mention the GY6 Lift (got your six) app. This app works just like an Uber or taxi hailing service however it is for active service members,spouses,retirees and veterans only. There is no use in risking your military career,your life or someone else's with a DUI. In continuation of Wednesday's post. VMFA-251 spent part of August up at the Joint Pacific Alaska Range Complex outside of Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson. Glad to see the East Coast's first F-35C squadron getting valuable joint training in and representing MCAS Cherry Point! Even nicer catching them in warm NC skies departing before putting in some work off the Crystal Coast.

Welcome back from Red Flag Alaska 26-3 VMFA-251 Thunderbolts! I am sure the weather was at least a bit cooler over that way! Nice to have the C model F-35's back home. Many more coming soon.

"Otis...my man!" Team Otis VMGR-252 departing through humid summer heat under callsign Grogg 7-1. Otis has been very busy as they usually are assisting with the MEU that took place over the last year as well as humanitarian efforts in Venezuela earthquakes. Nothing the KC-130J can't do. From FARPing,to Air to Air refuel,carrying Marines to the fight,cargo and humanitarian work. Even the Harvest Hawk mod could provide CAS!

The one that got away....almost. Of all the TAV's that have flown since 2017,somehow BuNo 163186 seemed to slip past me even after October of 2021 and it went to VMA-223 FRD. This TAV-8B was delivered to VMAT-203 in 1988 and stayed with them until they sundown in October of 2021. Even stayed flying until 2025 with VMA-223 FRD. Countless Marine Aviators have trained in this BuNo and she now proudly rests at the Havelock Tourist & Event Center for all to admire.

Happy early Birthday to one of my favorite Military cargo birds. The C-130!!!!!! The YC-130 flew on this date for the first time in 1954! Since that date 70 plus variants have been made and still being made from Aerial Gunship,Tankers,Electronic Warfare,Weather Reconnaissance. Examples of those can be seen in the images below!
