Buildings at this scale can easily become overwhelming. The approach to the building is clear from a distance. The entry, proportions, and material transitions create a sense of order that holds across a very large footprint.

Decisions about proportion, circulation, and visibility may seem subtle, but they shape how a building functions every day.

When those decisions are resolved early, even very large buildings can feel straightforward and easy to navigate.

From this vantage point, what you see is ease. What you don't see is the restraint behind it.

The pool, deck and clubhouse step naturally into the hillside, reducing the need for excessive site work while still creating a strong visual presence. Outside the frame, the site slopes steadily away, which could have meant heavy retaining walls, complex structure, and a lot of hidden cost. The design works with the site.

Good design often looks simple. That is because the hard decisions were made early.

Here, the focus was on creating an outdoor environment that feels complete in itself—a place to gather, unwind, and take in the Chesapeake Bay. The pool, pool house, and surrounding landscape work together to create a destination rather than simply an addition to the property.
From this vantage point, the design extends outward. The water, the horizon, and the built environment create a continuous experience that feels connected to the site rather than placed upon it.
The best builders understand that great projects are not just measured by square footage, but by how well they support the way people actually live.
