What does “LUGU” mean?
The word Lugu translates to Story in English. The word comes from the finnish-estonian language native to the country of Estonia. A small but beautiful country with a rich and vibrant history. Neighboring Sweden and Finland on the Baltic Sea, Estonia has many cultural influences and alongside modernized cityscapes at its capital, sit astonishing relics of a bygone architectural era. This country has seen, in its past, control under the USSR but has since declared its freedom and independence and propelled itself to the modern age. Much like the history of the United States their drive to become a free and prosperous nation is something of inspiration. From my admiration for this country I wanted a word that was easy to remember but that encapsulated my goals as a filmmaker. I found Lugu…
