Originally from northern Utah, I moved to Virginia in 2001. Being here the last 17 years has afforded me with a love of Virginia and the desire to catch the beauty around me. I currently live in Clarke County with my husband, dogs, cats, lizard and step-children. I spend most of my sitting on my deck reading, listening to music, and talking to my animals.My family has been involved in the arts my

entire life. We all crave some kind of creativity and art surrounding us. My father was a professional photographer growing up, so I've always had it around me. My sister as well as close family friends have all attended classes on photography, so I have many built-in critics which will bring out the best in anyone.. I like to prompt you to do something, and let your body do the work. I find this lends to much more natural looking body language and laughter. I specialize in capturing moments as they are, as opposed to how we think they should be. I will guide you and help you feel comfortable and relaxed.I am available for couples sessions, family, events, maternity, senior portraits and small weddings. Fall is coming, which means golden light, cooler evenings, changing leaves, and me checking the weather forecast approximately 47 times before every session.

This year, there just won’t be as many of them.

I’m keeping my fall calendar intentionally small, with only a few sessions available each month.

So if you already know you want one of those evenings, don’t wait for the leaves to start changing before you reach out.

A little update from me if you haven't heard!

This season of life is bringing some really exciting changes, including a new photography leadership position I recently accepted.

It’s a good change—but it does mean my time behind the camera for Captures by Kayleigh will be more limited this fall.

I’ll still be photographing the families, dogs, and moments I love most, just on a much smaller scale: 1–2 sessions on select weekends only.

If you’ve been waiting for the “right time” for updated photos, this is your gentle nudge—fall always goes fast, and this year will be no exception.

A smaller calendar, but the same work I care deeply about. Reach out now!

Apparently my new normal is going to involve a LOT of cameras. 😂

Between my new photography leadership role and Captures by Kayleigh, I’m getting very intentional about what goes on my calendar this fall.

For Captures, that means just 1–2 sessions on select weekends.

I’d rather take fewer sessions and give each one the time and attention I want to give it than pack my calendar simply because it’s fall.

So if you already know you want photos this season, grab a spot early. Once those weekends are full, I’m closing the calendar.
