Friday night, I had an idea: capture the fireworks over Red Rock Park with the crowd in the foreground using a long exposure.
There was just one problem... I didn't have a tripod.
So I handheld the camera for an 8-second exposure. 😅 The concept worked, but the photo definitely didn't.
On Saturday, I came prepared. I tested my Magic Arm to see if it could support my Nikon Z6II with the NIKKOR Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S. It held perfectly, giving me a stable platform for the long exposure.
The next three photos are the result of that little experiment. Sometimes all it takes is one failed attempt to figure out what needs to change.
One question before you scroll... can you spot the stars?
