An evening drone flight up over Lake Ninevah, tucked away in the spine of Vermont’s Green Mountains. While the sunset didn’t deliver the dramatic colors I had hoped for, the vibrant greens of the surrounding mountains more than made up for it. Lake Ninevah is one of those hidden gems that draws me back throughout the year, no matter the season. Its secluded location, well off the beaten path, keeps it free from the crowds that flock to some of the more well-known lakes nearby, preserving the quiet beauty and sense of solitude that make it such a special place to photograph from the air.

Some playful images from the Killington area. The first two are from high above the golf course, offering a great view of the long shadows from the trees and the cart paths as they snake through the course. A couple of images from Chittenden. The trickiest but also the most rewarding was the sunstar! The wind kept blowing the leaves in the background, causing it to disappear as quickly as it would appear. A little patience and timing, and voila, a sunstar. The other is the front facing peak and cupola from a beautiful red barn, well off the beaten path.

I had a chance to wander along the Burlington waterfront before sunset. After a rainy day, the clouds finally broke, and the sun made a brief appearance, painting the harbor in shades of gold.
The second image was captured just after sunset as a sailboat quietly glided into the docks beneath the fading evening light.

Early evening over Orwell, Vermont. 🌅🚁 Evenings hit differently from above. The fields, trees, and river come together in a unique view that adds a whole new dimension to these elements when viewed from above. The sun paints shadows across the fields as it sinks in the sky, and the clouds stretch towards the horizon, making for a fun and memorable flight.

Jenne Icon - Image from last Sunday morning. Got up before sunrise to grab some shots of Killington Mtn. at sunrise, but the mountain was pretty socked in with clouds and the sky was overcast. Moved on east to try to get ahead of the clouds and ended up in South Woodstock/Reading at the Jenne farm. Great early morning light and a few light clouds made for a beautiful image of this iconic Vermont farm.

Golden Evening - Sunset up on Kent Pond. Just off Rt 100 north, this little pond is a great spot to paddle, hike, fish, or just sit and enjoy the sunset. There's always plenty of wildlife to take in, from geese to loons to beavers. Come fall, and the mountains surrounding the pond explode with color. So much to see, so much to explore; I'm so fortunate to have places like this so close.

No Parking - This sign sits right next to a little red bridge with a horseshoe dam that was one of my favorite spots to go swimming growing up. On hot days like this it was a great place to cool off and escape the heat. Unfortunately all the development in the past couple of decades has almost completely shut down swimming access to this area.☹️ You can access the area via a boat, but the days of access from the road are long gone.
