Downtown Napa was basically modeling for my wife and I. The historic mill providing that perfect brick texture, sneak peeks of the river, and the light doing that soft‑glow thing photographers pretend they “just stumbled into.” Every corner felt like it was saying, “Go on… take the shot.” Napa, you’ve got angles, mood, and just enough swagger to make a photographer feel spoiled.

It was pretty incredible to walk through the primary residence of Jack London and his wife's known as The Cottage. While not initially intended to be a long place of residence, they expanded it after the Wolf House burned. Jack wrote many of his novels here. The House of Happy Walls Museum was a treasure trove... and I discovered that Jack and Charmian shared a passion for boxing, with Charmian holding her own and even knocking him down a few times!

A few things I didn't expect to see while out at the beach... a pirate ship sailing by, a turtle popping a squat, a bird acting like he was in the doghouse, and a Ferris wheel that seemed to follow me wherever I was shooting. Never know what you will find :)
