Lake Ralphine is a beautiful lake at Howarth Park but I often only get to see it from the marina perspective. There is a trail that wraps around the back side which offers up some pretty amazing views.

Hiked up to the top of the Islands in the Sky Trail expecting floating mountain peaks and a dreamy sea of fog... only to find clear skies and unbroken views! Turns out the "islands" were on vacation last weekend, but the views of Sonoma County’s rolling hills and coastal ridges were well worth it. Plus, catching horseback riders along the trail was an added bonus.
