Leaving the concrete jungle of New York City behind, our adventure to a greener upstate New York took an unexpected turn when we had a classic "oh look, squirrel" moment. Yep, you guessed it - we were chasing another sunset, this time over the Hudson River, and naturally, we needed to find a spot to capture it, ASAP!
Lauren, my trusty copilot, wasted no time and swiftly located a nearby park for us to catch the spectacle. Before we knew it, we found ourselves in Nyack, New York, nestled snugly along the banks of the Hudson River.
Why did the boat go to therapy?
- Because it had too many unresolved issues floating around!
In our foreground stood the remnants of the Erie Canal's concrete barge, a ghostly reminder of from WW2, when wood and steel were in short supply, industrialists were looking for alternative ship building supplies, so naturally....concrete, right? Needless to say, it didn't go so well. Meanwhile, in the background, sailboats, not made from concrete, gracefully bobbed on the tranquil waters. It was one of those unplanned detours that turned out to be a serendipitous way to close out the evening.
