Long post Alert:
I'll never stop learning. 1) I learned that FB Stories go away rather than being on your page. My take from that lesson was 2,3,4,5-fold:
2) Although the story of Matrimony for Derick and I changed new pages were developed in our story. I'm at peace because of those final pages leading up to the conclusion to our story. God's love and grace allowed us to experience those moments. The FINAL chapter is when the Story ends. Our story ended WELL despite hell and the minions of hell that roam about.
3) I learned from one of the B.E.S.T! I used to get so po'd about what somebody said or did, and I would want to tell MY side of the story. Derick told me "That's HIS-story or HER-story"... You gonna let them write YOUR-story?". Mind you, he and I both had OUR-story! What I learned is that it only mattered for GOD to know the WHOLE story. You see God has been in the story from beginning to end with us both.
4) I also learned that there are 4-8 types of Love according to the ancient Greeks. I think Derick and I journeyed through most of them at different times throughout the past 32 years. Whew! One thing that remained was and is Love! PERIODT!
5) STORIES are varied, some factual, some fictional, some historical, mysterious, tragic, legendary, comedic, short, long, etc... I could go on and on and on and oonnnnn. I learned also that the story of my life has been multi-faceted, simple, complex and more, BUT GOD! Two of my favorite scriptures are: Exodus 14:14 ESV "The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent" and Isaiah 54:17 NKJV " No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgement You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me," says the Lord.
So, I want to thank those that have reached out with their condolences, prayed, called, texted, emailed, stopped by, and submitted contributions to charities/organizations in Derick's name to honor him as I requested so that his name will be remembered. (God has been faithful to me and a constant provision. Forget what you heard).
Though my heart and and the tears come and go ... Our love will be cherished!
