This might be my favorite shot from the time I spent with the panthers at Official Gatorland Instagram yesterday.
They are often napping during the day like most cats but if you catch them early before they settle in you might see them a climbing trees, leaping from one spot to the next or groom each other Iike they were this morning.
Someday soon I need to head to South Florida and try to find one of the few remaining wild Florida panthers. They are such beautiful animals.

It is always amazing to see big cats like this up close and that’s why the panthers are always one of my first stops each time I visit Official Gatorland Instagram

Have you stopped in to see Wildness & Wonder: The Photography of Jon Burket at the Healthy West Orange Arts and Heritage Center at the Town of Oakland yet? These are just a few of the more than 60 photos you will find in the exhibit.
I have appreciated all of the great responses since opening night but if you didn’t make it then, there is still plenty of time to enjoy the show as it runs through the end of October. And mark your calendars now for October 8th from 6:00-7:30 if you would like to hear some of the stories behind a few of my favorite photos. More details to come about that event.

Now if only a horse would have walked through that gate to give me the perfect silhouette to complete this sunrise shot!
It is never easy to get out of bed early enough to drive over an hour to be I position before sunrise, but I have never regretted being outside and seeing a sunrise. Always worth it.
