As a mom of a rising senior myself, I just scheduled my daughter McKenzie's yearbook portrait with her high school's contracted photographer.

And honestly? That's perfectly okay.

The yearbook photo serves a purpose. It's needed for the yearbook, graduation programs, and school records.

But when I looked through the available options, I was reminded of something important...

A senior portrait experience should be about more than choosing Background A, B, or C.

Senior year only happens once.

As the sun disappeared behind the trees at Geneva Lake Events, we finished this maternity session with some of the most dramatic and breathtaking images of the evening. The black gazebo, glowing crystal chandelier, flowing gown, and warm sunset light created the perfect setting for portraits that felt powerful, elegant, and completely unforgettable.

Using off-camera lighting, expert posing, and multiple angles, we transformed this moment into artwork instead of ordinary photographs. This is why experience matters. Three magazines. Three countries. One very surreal week. ✨

Recently, I got a fire under me and finally decided to start submitting my work for publication. A few magazines had actually reached out encouraging me to submit, so I took the leap… and now 3 out of the 4 magazines I submitted to are officially publishing my images.

So I guess this makes it official… I’m now an internationally published photographer. 🥹
