A little reminder for couples in the thick of wedding planning.🤍

I know how easy it is for the to-do list to take over. There’s always another decision to make, another email to send, another thing that suddenly feels like it needs to be handled right now.

Underneath all of that, you’re engaged! You and your fiance are preparing for a lifetime together, and that’s pretty exciting!

So, remember to take a break from the checklist every now and then. Go on a date or do absolutely nothing, a long as you’re enjoying this season of being fiancés!

The wedding will come. You don’t have to rush through this part to get there.

Is Flashback Friday still a thing?? Cause this gallery popped up in my memories and I just had to share it again!

On this day in 2022, Jean and Wintchele Milord celebrated 25 years of marriage with a beautiful vow renewal ceremony. They spent the day surrounded by their children, extended family, and life long friends who helped share the joy of this milestone anniversary.

Cheers to them on what will be their 29th wedding anniversary, and to all the couples who set the standard for a long and loving marriage. 🫶🏻

A little advice for my fellow photographers...

I used to avoid direct sunlight at all costs. If there wasn’t open shade or an overcast sky, I’d immediately start looking for somewhere else to shoot. Looking back, I was doing both myself and my clients a disservice, and really limiting my options.

Over the years, I’ve learned that direct light can create some of the most dramatic, artistic, and intentional images when you learn to work with it instead of against it. Those bold shadows and highlights can add so much depth and emotion to a photograph.

Golden hour will always have my heart, but don’t be afraid to step into the sun and experiment. You might surprise yourself with the magic you create. ✨

Bianca is Mexican, Richard is Tongan, and both of their families came together to celebrate their love and culture in the most beautiful way. It’s a wedding I will never forget!

One of the most unique wedding bouquets I’ve ever photographed 💐

Instead of fresh florals, Gabriela carried a bouquet of crocheted flowers handmade by her mom. Her groom’s boutonniere was crocheted too.

Not only was it a beautiful and personal detail, but it’s something they’ll be able to keep and enjoy for years to come.

I love when couples find meaningful ways to incorporate family, heirlooms, and handmade touches into their wedding day. It’s those little details that make a wedding truly feel like their own. 🤍

When I photographed some of my first weddings, over 10 years ago, I was still in college studying art and photography. I was figuring things out as I went, learning through experience, making mistakes, and doing my best with the knowledge and equipment I had at the time.

The newer images represent more than a decade of growth. Hundreds of weddings, countless lessons learned, and years spent refining my craft and finding my style.

It’s easy to look at someone’s work and forget that they were once a beginner, too. None of us start out as experts.

I’m grateful for every couple who trusted me along the way and still so proud of the work I created. Each wedding taught me something new and played a part in helping me become the photographer I am today.🤍

A little glimpse into a 6 hour day of second shooting 📸

From emotional first looks with her the bride’s favorite people, to a beautiful moment of prayer with the couple’s parents during the ceremony, this wedding was filled with so much love and intention. Jonathan and Emme were surrounded by an incredible group of friends and family, and each part of their day felt so heartfelt and meaningful. 🤍
