Shoutout to and for letting us tag along. Always a pleasure to run with the pack.

Beautiful weather. Great company. “Chill pace.”

Shout out to the for the Pizza and Coke available at the summit. It brought us back to life for the second half of the hike!

Highlights from the Franconia Ridge.

Much more than just a race against each other.

It was also our first time hiking 4K’s alone.

Followers voted hike up Old Bridle in a 29-24 vote. *Most people consider it to be the more difficult direction. We started at about 3:30 a.m..

4.1 miles in, almost exactly at the halfway mark, we crossed paths as the sun was rising! It was perfect timing. Just long enough to say hi and get a selfie and we were off and running. With Old Bridle being the easier descent, we both thought .noel.121 was sure to get to the bottom first. And he did. But barely!

End results:

While Paul finished his route 10 minutes faster, due to many factors, We each consider this a “win” for BOTH of us in so many ways. It was always just a way to push our selves a little further while trying new things.

Our youngest child Nikaya joined us for a Father’s Day hike up Mt. Major.

The amount of times we were asked about arriving at the summit or how far we had left, almost outnumbered the breaks we took. 😂😂😂

Still very proud of how well she did!

This marks our 70th Mount Major summit of 2026.

Large-leaf lupine (Lupinus polyphyllus), also known as big-leaf lupine or garden lupin, is a robust perennial herbaceous plant native to western North America. Famous for its dramatic, star-shaped palmate leaves and towering spires of pea-like flowers.

The genus Lupinus stems from the Latin word ‘lupus,’ meaning ‘wolf.’ It was mistakenly thought that these plants wolfed down or robbed the soil of its nutrients. Wild lupine is actually a nitrogen-fixating plant, meaning it enhances soil fertility by fixing nitrogen from the air into a useful form that can be absorbed by organisms.

The proceeds support racial justice and outdoor access programs in New England that are run for and by communities of color.

Shout out to the family for hosting such a great, meaningful event where we could come together, doing what we love for a wonderful cause.

Big up to for getting us out there during scary hours and for always encouraging us to do hard things.
