There’s a special place in my heart for single moms, pregnant moms, and young moms.

Because I’ve been there…
And now, I get to walk alongside my daughter as she experiences it too.

It’s a season filled with love—but it can also feel heavy, uncertain, and even lonely at times.

Photography is the gift God gave me, and I love using it to show women how beautiful and valuable they are. But some of the most meaningful moments happen when I step outside the studio and use that gift to serve.

I have the honor of serving Embrace Grace —a Christian ministry that helps single and pregnant women, offering them support, community, and a reminder that they are never alone.

Every mom deserves to feel seen.
To feel supported.
To feel loved right where she is.

This is one of the ways I get to live out my faith.

Found my very first business card today. Almost 12 years ago.

I started with the name “Joyful Photography by Liz” simply because it brought me joy. I had no idea it would become my purpose.

Over the years, I’ve learned something: most people don’t want to be photographed. They walk into my studio carrying insecurities, talking down on themselves — not believing what I can already see when I look at them🤩

That’s why there’s a diamond inside the camera shutter of my Liz Marie Portraits logo. Because every single person I photograph is a diamond. They just need the right light to see it.

My studio is not just a business. It’s a healing space. A transformation space. An empowering space. And honestly? It transformed me too. My confidence didn’t just grow on the outside — it grew deep on the inside. Because I learned to recognize the gift God placed in my hands.

I started out of joy. And joy led me straight to my purpose. 🙏

Graduation portraits are such a beautiful tradition. 🎓

Recently, a mom came to the studio with a special request. She wanted to recreate her own senior portrait with her daughter — same classic background, same cap and gown, the same pose she had many years ago. I loved that idea because those memories matter so much.

Of course we recreated the portrait exactly the way she remembered it.

But then I asked if we could try one more with my studio touch. I guided her daughter with a little movement, lifted the hair, added that soft blowing flow, and gave her a more confident, editorial-style pose.

Same traditional portrait… but with a little extra life and personality.

When they came back to choose their photos, guess which one they both fell in love with?
The one with the movement, the flow, the one that felt like her.

Tradition matters… but adding a little magic makes it unforgettable. ✨
