No fl**ge? No problem.

Sure, we make custom fl**ges all the time... but what if you don't want one?

Sometimes the simplest solution is also the cleanest. Threading a metal lens board directly eliminates the need for a separate mounting fl**ge, reducing parts while creating a streamlined setup.

For the minimalist in all of us, less really can be more.

🎵 It's hip to be square. 🎵

Especially when you're a round fl**ge that's just a little too big for the lens board.

We've shown this trick before, but machining a fl**ge into a square profile lets us eke out just a little more usable space when every fraction of an inch counts. For this project, it made it possible to mount a Dallmeyer 14" lens onto a Technika 4×5 lens board without compromising strength or function.

Sometimes thinking outside the circle is all it takes.

🎵 Can you feel the love tonight… 🎵

Some things are just meant to be together.

In this case, a Sinar Norma found its perfect match in a Linhof 4×5 reducing back. The client already had the parts—they just needed a little matchmaking. We designed the custom adapter to bring these two classics together into one seamless system.

It's the circle of life... for camera gear.

Okay... some of you out there are getting a little freaky, but hey—we love it.

What's better than one focusing mount? Two, of course.

This setup combines a Cambo 180 helicoid, a third-party double helicoid, and a Pixco M65-to-GFX adapter. All that was missing was the piece that tied everything together—a custom threaded adapter that bolts directly to the Cambo helicoid using its existing mounting pattern.

Once assembled, this baby's got a lot of extension. Let's just say close focusing isn't going to be a problem.

Sometimes the best custom part is the one that lets everyone else play nicely together.

Pico, I choose YOU! ⚡📸

Alright, it's not a Pokémon... but it probably would fit inside a Poké Ball.

This project paired a Mamiya G 50mm f/4 with an Arca Swiss Pico lens board for use on a Fujifilm GFX100. Like any good evolution, it took a little engineering to bring together two systems that were never meant to meet.

No rare candy required—just a bit of SKG ingenuity.

Vintage parts are getting harder and harder to find.

Our client needed a replacement bayonet lens cap for a Leica Stemar 33mm f/3.5 and, fortunately, was able to provide both a sample cap and the mating lens. From there, we broke out the calipers, micrometers... and a stick of bubble gum.

Once we were all out of gum, a duplicate cap was coming off the milling machine. Machined from black Delrin, it has a smooth, silky feel and won't scratch your vintage equipment.

Ladies and gentlemen... for our next trick! ✨

The ALPA is already a beautifully engineered camera, but like any good illusion, sometimes there's more going on behind the curtain. Our client wanted to pair a Rodenstock ALPA HR Alpagon 35mm f/4 with an ALPA tilt/shift adapter—but the stock lens board simply didn't provide enough recession to achieve infinity focus.

Cue the smoke machine.

With a custom recessed lens board designed to fit within the ALPA adapter—and just a pinch of SKG magic—presto! Infinity focus restored, tilt/shift unlocked, and a lens with a few new tricks up its sleeve.

And don't worry... we didn't even have to saw the assistant in half for this one.

Missing face plates? Sure, your camera will still work—but something just feels incomplete when the emblem is gone.

While we don't always have original parts, we're pretty good at making faithful replicas. For this project, the client contacted us through our website and sent a few reference photos. A little machining, a little Photoshop, and a lot of attention to detail later, we had a replacement that looked right at home.

The Kodak Master View 8×10 is a beautiful camera—folds up nicely, travels well, and still turns heads. But one weak spot is the original brass tripod socket. With its generous chamfer, you only get a thread or two of engagement, and that's not ideal when you're supporting an 8×10 on a tripod.

Our replacement keeps the original look and finish while maximizing thread engagement for a stronger, more secure connection. Small part. Big improvement. Available at our online store.

Sometimes the simplest solution is the smartest one.

This Gundlach Hyperion 7" f/4 was front-mounted to an Ilex #4 shutter, giving a classic barrel lens the benefit of shutter speeds with only a single custom adapter. The lens's original iris continues to control the aperture, while the shutter's iris is simply left open or disengaged. Better yet, if you happen to have an aperture-less shutter, this is exactly the kind of project it was made for.
