If you need a goose outfit, this is your girl.
She is amazing!! She does everything herself. She used to make newborn photography items but as our industry has slowed way down she has pivoted into the goose community.
I cannot believe these geese have made such a comeback. We bought my mother in law one for her last mother's day with us 27 yrs ago. I never imagined they would be so popular again, but I guess everything eventually comes back around.
Good morning my fine feathered friends!
I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and give a little heartfelt insight into my shop. My page has grown tremendously in the last few months and I am so proud of it!
My name is Kristen and I am a wife, and mother to 3 in West Michigan. My husband served in the Navy for 13.5 years. We are a homeschooling family. I am completely self taught for photography, knitting, crocheting, and sewing. I used to primarily make newborn and sitter photography props until that industry slowed and I discovered porch geese! I decided to take my skills and my knit fabrics and make some unique geese clothing! What a year it has been!
In fact, June 30th is 1 year since I received my first two geese- Debbie and Gilbert.
So what I really want to touch on is this:
I am human. I make mistakes. In the last year, I have sold thousands of goose outfits to people all over the country and even Canada! Every single item is hand cut and sewn by me. My own two hands. I don't have any assistants. My husband works full time and can only sew if he absolutely needs to. (Never 🤣)
I make mistakes and I should hope we ALL do. But I am never afraid to admit if I mess up. If your order ever has an issue- please please please 🙏 reach out to me. I will go out of my way to fix it. Do not hesitate to let me know because the last thing I want is unhappy customers! 💔
Another thing I want to touch base with is my turnaround time. I don't know how else to let people know my turnaround time. Etsy supposedly shows customers the turnaround and I have it in an email that gets sent to you as well. It's also in my Etsy announcements.
My POSTED turnaround time is 5-8 weeks.
🤯🤯🤯🤯
That seems CRAZY long for goose outfits, right?! I have never ever taken that long. I try to tell people that I aim for 2-3 weeks. But even that goes over a little. Some days I could get 3 orders and the next day I get 22 orders. The 22 orders could all be for ONE goose outfit each and the 3 orders could be for 10 outfits each order! I have been INCREDIBLY blessed. But please understand- Everything goes through my own hands.
On days my husband works, I am up at 5:30am to drive him to work. We have one vehicle. Then I typically come home and am cutting orders or sewing orders. If my daughter has soccer or horse lessons, I have to take her to practice and I can't work on orders in those hours. If my son has piano, I am gone to his lessons. I then also have to pick my husband up from work, so I'm out of the house again. I stay working til 10pm most days and occasionally even until after 11pm.
I get burnt out but I keep pushing through it because the goose community has always been so kind and understanding.
So please know-
I am not Amazon. I am not a CEO of a multi million dollar corporation with a warehouse filled with sewists. I am one person. One wife. One mother.
The amount of times my youngest has asked when I will take a day off so I can play games with him is far too many. 💔
I am so appreciative of the support and can't believe it has almost been a year already! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
❤️❤️
