Because she’s your first you think you won’t forget all the little things about her. The way her little giggle sounds or how perfectly she fits in your arms or how wispy her little curls are. Then, you have another baby and while some of the sweet and funny moments will always stick with you eventually you realize ,but only by looking back at pictures, “oh my gosh I forgot how wispy your little curls were!” And if you’re like me you end up having another and another and then two more and all the little things start to blend together no matter how hard you try. Thank goodness I’ve written things down along the way, but looking at old photographs of my babies hits different. Sometimes I’m overwhelmed with how blessed I feel to have them and sometimes I’m overwhelmed with how much I can’t remember [that I swore I could never forget] but either way…overwhelmed. Motherhood with all it’s ups and downs and beautiful little things is just that way, isn’t it?!

You know when you’re a young mom and the baby goes down for a nap and you have that little panicky feeling trying to figure out what to do with “all that time to yourself”, do you wash dishes or eat uninterrupted or fold laundry or take an actual shower (not a quick rinse) or get some work done or catch up on a show or this or that or or or or OR and then before you know it the baby is up and you’re like “crap I didn’t do ANYTHING” so you feel like you ended up “wasting” that precious time?!?! That’s kind of the same feeling you have when your last little one goes to Kindergarten.
I feel like my brain is all over the place🤯 with things I WANT to do like paint my office, organize my kiddos baby books, grab a treat and read at the park for hours, bake and try all the recipes I’ve saved over the years, learn how to garden, finally solidify a workout plan, go back to school, etc. and things I NEED to do like organize the whole dang house, clean the baseboards (probably just replaced them they’re THAT bad😵‍💫), meal plan/prep, work on my landscaping (because ya’ll my curb appeal is NOT appealing), clean out the attic, and well you know how it goes, the list is never ending and I don’t know where to start. It’s equal parts exciting and daunting to feel like I finally have a chance to breath and figure out how I want to shape the rest of my life without feeling like I ended up “wasting” this time.
Anyone in this stage of life and feel the same way? Anyone past it and have good advice?

I often get asked “when is a good time to do senior photos?” And the answer is…months in advance, in the small moment between their busy sports or fine arts season and the beginning of ANOTHER busy season! Truth is seniors are busy the whole dang year so if you know you’ve got a pocket of time to spare a weekend or week day touch base with your photographer to book it in advance. And sooner is ALWAYS better than later because those last couple of months before they graduate FLYYYYYY!!!
And I know this might be unconventional, but here’s an idea: Schedule it for a random weekday morning, excuse them from school, do their session (you’ll likely be the ONLY person at whatever cool spot you decide on with your photographer, grab a brunch for quality time with your baby [who grew way faster than you thought possible] and then they can go back to school and get on either their busy senior life. How fun would that be for BOTH of you?!?!

Question: When you’re planning family outfits for your portrait session do you prefer casual vibes or do you tend to elevate your wardrobe just for the session with dresses and slacks, etc.? What’s your reason for choosing your vibe?

Even though the kids are back in school that summer heat is taking it’s sweet time to die down. I’m sooo ready for cooler temps, fall snuggles, and pumpkin everything!🍂

Even though I kept working through the summer I kind of forgot about social media and not gonna lie…it was kinda nice🤷🏻‍♀️
Working on some new things this season, making some business changes and it’s exciting. Also, I will be offering mini sessions soon so be on the lookout for that!

Goin’ camping with over one hundred teenage girls - send prayers!😜 I’m actually so excited, there’s a sweetness that fills the air when these young spirits spend time together to pray, learn, and escape the world.

I'm not sure how to say this, but I'm gonna need EVERYONE to be in full ball gowns from now on! This was such a dreamy session, Staci is stunning😍 Staci just turned 15, and in Hispanic culture if you're a girl that's a BIG DEAL! You have a whole wedding style event, known as a quinceñera, and you wear basically the biggest dress you can find that makes you feel like a princess and the entire celebration is about you. It's amazing and in case anyone is wondering, yes, I will absolutely be having a quinceñera for my daughter...I have 10 years to save for it!🤣 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
