School is out for summer (or almost), and while I'm sure we'll all be hearing "I'm bored!" within the next day or two... I've been in my feels lately. ❤️
I've been photographing some of this year's seniors, and several of them are kids I've photographed since they were little. Watching them graduate has really put time into perspective for me.
One minute they're tiny kids running around during a family session, and the next they're walking across a stage preparing for their next chapter.
As a mom myself, it's been a reminder that these years go so incredibly fast.
Be present.
Say yes to the popsicle run.
Say yes to staying a little longer at the park.
Say yes to the movie night, the messy crafts, the extra snuggles, and the adventures you'd rather skip because you're tired.
The dishes can wait.
The laundry can wait.
Our babies won't.
So here's your reminder from a photographer who gets a front-row seat to watching children grow up: soak it all in this summer. The days can feel long, but you'll blink and they'll be all grown up. ❤️

The last couple weeks I’ve been BUSY behind the scenes working on something BRAND NEW and I am SO excited to finally start sharing little hints 👀✨

Lately I’ve realized how easy it is to rush through life trying to keep up with everything. The laundry, the work, the errands, the notifications, the constant “what’s next.”
This weekend, slow down for a second.
Watch your kids laugh. Feel the sun. Listen to the little noises in your home. Take the long way. Stay in the moment just a little longer.

okay but… i finally did it.
i’m always the one behind the camera telling everyone else
“get in the photo, you’ll regret it if you don’t”
meanwhile… i avoid it like the plague 😅
being in front of the camera is uncomfortable.
it’s exhausting.
the outfits, the planning, trying to feel put together… it’s a lot.
and if i’m being honest, i love photography…
but i don’t love being the one in the photos.
but i kept thinking about my son.
one day he’s going to look back at photos from his childhood
and i don’t want him to only see memories i took of him…
i want him to see me in them too.
what i looked like
how i showed up
how i loved him
not perfect, not always put together… just real.
i want him to remember me like this.
fun (sometimes 😂), a little chaotic, and just doing my best.
so yeah… i did the shoot.

not as a photographer, just as a mom…
