People think of birth photography as just capturing the moment your baby cries for the first time. But what about after?

The first time your baby is weighed, the first bath, the first time baby is dressed. Those moments happen so quick after baby is born, that it is easy for them to blend in. And they shouldn’t. It tells your birth story, the final chapter of your baby’s birthday.

Birth photography is more than just crowning shots and a few labor pics. It truly is telling a love story between a mother and her child.

Labor is a story of its own. The long hours, the deep breaths, the moments of uncertainty, and the strength it takes to keep going when you’re so close to meeting your baby.

You cannot even begin to fathom how much I treasure being able to witness what happens before that first cry. The quiet encouragement, the handholding and support from the birth team, the moments when time seems to stand still, and finally, the overwhelming feeling of meeting the little person you’ve been waiting for.

These are the moments I want families to remember. Not just the moment their baby arrived, but everything it took to get there.
