It’s taken 8 years, but I FINALLY got the D Family to Higgins Beach. 🥰 And let me tell you, we were REWARDED for my patience, because wowza did they get the sunset of the season!! You’re going to want to take a peek at the whole lot of these ones!

Jenny, Ryan, Abe, and Luke are so much fun - full of energy, ‘tude, love, and play, and to finally get them at my favorite beach to run, explore, and (attempt) snuggle(s), was such a highlight of my summer.

The outfits were 🔥, the sky was 🔥🔥, and the energy was top notch for this awesome beach session on a perfect late August evening. 🥰

It’s another BIG 10 today! 🎉

TEN years ago I met Kristin, Matt, Chase, and Davis, and since then I have been so lucky to have them in front of my camera for eleven sessions! Kristin first reached out years ago when their family photographer moved, and I remember feeling so hopeful that this would be the beginning of a relationship that would last for many years. I’m so lucky that wish came true. 🥰

Over the past decade, I’ve watched Chase and Davis grow up. From silly, busy toddlers, to thoughtful, playful and super smart young men, every year I am blown away by how much they grow and how mature, kind, and wonderful they are. Watching Kristin and Matt become closer as a couple and more and more silly with their boys over the years has been such a joy. And knowing how much these photos mean to all of them (I’ll see them again this fall - per the request of Chase!!) gives an added level of warm fuzzies to our annual sessions.

Over the years we’ve met up everywhere in Portsmouth, York, Scarborough, Wells, and Kittery. And knowing that these New Hampshire residents do not hesitate to drive multiple hours to the perfect photo spot is extra special. I love that our sessions are not just a session, but a chance for family time and a little getaway, too. 💕

This year we returned to Higgins Beach on a cloudy and foggy evening - exactly what Kristin was hoping for, as we headed to the left side of the beach to capture the greenery amongst the waves. A night totally meant to be!

THANK YOU to this crew for ten whole years of photo memories and friendship. I love, love, love being your family photographer and hope to continue to capture you together for years to come! ✨

The M Family! 💕

I love how much I have made it up to Reid this summer - and this trip with the M Family was extra memorable! While they were too far away to photograph, we were SO lucky to see both seals and dolphins (!) as we explored park on a gorgeous August evening with really cool clouds, beautiful light, and of course this amazing family!

This was my third year with Kelley, Matt, Amelia, and Bridget, and every year I love capturing how much fun this family has together. This year the girls were ready to rock from the get-go, any getting-to-know-you shyness out the window.

Bridget made me giggle with her dance moves, and Amelia has definitely entered the bittersweet phase of being a little more grown up, with peeks of little kid still in there.

As a parent, there are moments in time where you just know the tide is turning a bit, and I felt that this year as we captured the playfulness between the sisters and their parents in the final days of summer before the girls started 3rd and 5th grade. I’m so glad we had the opportunity to capture these four together again this summer.

And the icing on the cake? (Besides the dolphins - did I mention we saw dolphins?!) The very sweet young lady who had a couple of roses on the beach and gifted the girls with their own red rose before the session ended. Little moments that make a difference - thanks to this stranger for helping us make some unexpected fun images at the end of this session. 🌹

Second share of the day is the O Family!

I feel like every year I have a story to share with this crew, and this year is no different! Year NINE brought us some sickness and some tricky weather, and I have to tell you - there is no family that can handle these curveballs like the O Family.

I arrived at our session with almost no voice and limited energy, and to skies that looked like they were going to open at any moment. But this crew - this crew can roll with anything, and nobody bat an eye as the clouds got darker, and Anthony and Erin were yelling out my instructions for me. Over the years we’ve had everything from rain to rainbows, so I knew these guys would be down for whatever we got - and we laughed, danced, jumped the (very cold) waves, and snuggled our way through our cloudy session that was magic in its very own special way.

And then of course - we got ice cream. Because Scoop Deck and time with the O Family are literally the best medicine. 💕

Ok kids, it is catch up time!! I have been an editing machine behind the scenes, but my sharing needs some work. 🤣 So - as we head into the long holiday weekend I’m sharing two sessions today - one this morning and one later this afternoon!

We’re kicking it off with the B Family - a family who I have had the extreme pleasure of getting to watch grow up through my lens since 2015. And every year I talk about how much the kids have grown up, but this year was really something. With one in her last year of college, one entering senior year, one entering freshman year and two in elementary - it’s just wild to know that these kids I have known since little kid, toddlerhood, and infancy are getting so ready to take on the world. 🥹

This year we met up at their beautiful home here in Yarmouth where we enjoyed their gorgeous gardens and then headed to the community dock where we enjoyed a lovely low-tide sunset.

Time marches on, but I’m so grateful that each year I get to capture it for this really special crew. 💕

It’s BIG TEN session time!! 🎉

Every time I get to post one of these, I am emotional, because I never ever ever take for granted that families will come back each year, and so when they do - and especially when they do for a DECADE or more - holy cow my heart is just so.darn.full.

This is a long one! (Sometimes it’s hard not blogging anymore!)

Today’s big ten is with the G Family - Jessica, Tim, Kallie, and Abby who I first met on the shores of Popham Beach waaaay back in 2017 when Kallie was a toddler and Abby was just a little baby. Since then, I have seen these guys every year and we have done sessions in Brunswick, Phippsburg, Georgetown, Boothbay, Scarborough, Cape Elizabeth, and Yarmouth.

But aside from the ten sessions in so many amazing places, my favorite part of working with this family is our ice cream tradition. When my daughter joined us in 2019 because I didn’t have childcare that evening, we ended our session with ice cream at a marina. Every year since, we’ve wrapped up our time together with a cone, and even when my own family doesn’t come to the session, they often will join for ice cream after - a tradition both families have come to look forward to.

And so, a decade later, we have two families who have become buddies, and I have had the insane pleasure of watching Kallie and Abby grow into smart, talented, strong and beautiful young women, while also watching Jess and Tim grow into parenthood with amazing energy and an awesome sense of humor. Also, I need to give a super special shoutout to Jess’ mom Sarah who has also joined at many of our sessions over the years. 💕

This year these guys showed up with balloons to celebrate the occasion, and it was super special knowing they also recognized this awesome milestone. 🥹

Thanks for a decade of memories, G Family!! I adore my time with you - photos, ice cream, dance parties and all! 📸 🍦

I can think of no better post on the Friday of the last week of summer vacation than this year’s session with the F Family!

When Lindsey shared with me that she and John purchased a camp on Belgrade Lake over the winter and wanted do their summer photos there, my mind immediately started to spin with magical images of this crew at camp.

I am so excited to share that all my goofy, playful, magical, perfect camp session dreams came true. 🤩

This was my fourth year with these guys, and every year I leave knowing I’ll be on a high for hours after. Lindsey, John, Tessa, and Simon are the type of people who carry light around them. They are beautifully positive, playful, and full of love for each other and the space around them. Tessa and Simon are total goofballs, and Lindsey and John are always ready and willing to go with the flow, and embrace the magic and beauty of the life they are building.

From pictures in front of their new place to big jumps and swimming as the sun went down, this year’s session was Maine summer perfection. I’m so honored to have captured a piece of their first summer on the lake. 💕🌲🌊

The DP Family! 🌲

I met this gorgeous crew for the first time at Reid State Park earlier this month. These guys are from Virginia, but spend a good amount of their summer in Eastern Maine, and were such troopers to travel a few hours south for our session.

Laura and Gerti, their three teens Edison, Elliott, and Camille, and their adorable doodle DeeDee are so laid back, lovely and easy to photograph. They wanted photos that captured the beauty of rocky Maine, and Reid is the best place in southern Maine to capture this vibe.

This crew is close knit and quietly hilarious, with many inside jokes and words passing between the teens all evening. And of course DeeDee stole the show with her forever-puppy cuteness. 🐾 🥰

It was wonderful meeting this family and capturing them together in their home away from home. 💕

For Cristina and Zoltan, time with family is absolutely everything!

This summer they brought their whole crew to their new home in Cape Elizabeth and wanted to commemorate the occasion with family photos at their beautiful property.

With kids and grandkids and great grandkids visiting from everywhere from DC to California, these guys were all thrilled to be enjoying the Maine coast together earlier this month.

Every summer this crew gathers somewhere, and when I was speaking with Cristina ahead of our session, she expressed how important this time is to the whole family, and how grateful they all are to be able to travel together. And at the end of the trip, the feedback is that they always need more time together. 💕

Our evening was full of laughs, cuteness, and all the magic of family being together. Thank you to this crew for such a fun evening during your time here in Maine!
