I’ve been sitting on these photos and I figured it’s time to share them. One of the coolest nature experiences of my life happened on our last day in when we pulled over to watch the sunset.

We noticed a crew of people had pulled over with a pair of binoculars and they were looking at a group of Buffalo. The one woman told us there was a Buffalo giving birth, so I ran to my car and grabbed my telephoto lens and thank god I had it because I was able to document the very end! I didn’t have my tripod, so this was shot all handheld at the longest range possible from about 70 yards away.

What an incredible moment. I couldn’t help but to feel so lucky to be in the right place at the right time to witness such a beautiful & sort of gross part of nature. A moment I will never forget 💛🦬💛

What is one of your favorite memories while exploring our national or state parks? Let me know in the comments!

One of my new favorite activities is watching Buffalo graze while the sun sets behind a hill in the distance. Now I just have to figure out how to experience this new favorite activity more often than not… 🌅

There’s something hauntingly beautiful about a mountain that disappears into the clouds — calm and unbothered, as if choosing to reveal itself only on its own terms.

Maybe that’s the point. You don’t always get the shot you came for, but you always have the choice to appreciate what’s in front of you and find beauty regardless 🏔️

Editing this photo was difficult because it was after the sun set, we were about 20-30 yards away (probably more because I’m terrible at estimating distance), and my shutter speed was set super low in order to get the image to come through. I was also shooting handheld with a telephoto lens because I forgot my tripod at home, so I was really hoping it didn’t come out overly blurry... 😅

Thankfully, has great features that allow me to edit to a point where I’m comfortable with sharing!

Bears are beautiful animals, and I felt lucky to see this majestic friend on our last day in the park 🙏🏻

I believe this was shot using Ilford Color 800…. When I drop off multiple rolls at once for scanning, sometimes it’s difficult to remember which film stock I had loaded 😬

I will be taking better notes from here on out 📝
