Fair warning…. The next part is longer than I prefer, but I want to shed some light on what's been happening behind the scenes ❤️..
As we shared back in June, we hired an editor to help us tackle the amount of editing we had in front of us. I spent quite a bit of time preparing files, creating a workflow and training this person, which initially slowed down the process for dance and baseball. The hope was that we would make that time back once there were two of us working through everything.
Unfortunately, things didn't quite work out that way.
Our editor had a previously scheduled family vacation, and dance was unable to be finished before they left. By the time they returned, 4-H had begun and we were already into a very full schedule of events that had been planned months in advance. After 4-H, the plan was to circle back and finish dance, but our editor ultimately decided to part ways with us before that happened.
I'm not sharing any of that because there are ill feelings—there aren't. I'm sharing it simply for transparency, because I know many of you have been patiently waiting and I don't want you wondering why you're seeing newer galleries going online while dance is still unfinished.
We are a small business that is growing, and sometimes growth comes with a few growing pains. Right now, I'm working through a workload we had planned to divide between two people while also keeping the current operations of Game Day Photography moving forward. I’m juggling both covering and processing the events already on our schedule while weaving in the additional editing we had planned for a second person.
As for dance specifically, it IS on my screen and being worked on. Right now I'm sorting through Saturday's performances to identify the dances that were only performed Saturday night. Those are my first priority. We also still have some fun behind the scenes photos I can’t wait to show everyone.
I know you've waited much longer than any of us expected, and I truly appreciate the patience and grace you've shown us while we've worked through this. I'm continuing to chip away at it while also making sure Game Day Photography keeps moving forward.
