I know it’s not quite as exciting as chasing the Union Pacific Big Boy through Nebraska this weekend, but it’s still pretty amazing how many trains roll through here every single day.

Caught this one while out exploring for the Nebraska Passport.

I think we all do this… Take a trip, shoot a bunch of photos, share a few, and then never really look at the rest again.

Lately, I’ve been so focused on growing this photography business that I kinda forgot why I enjoy carrying a camera in the first place.

So I went back.

These are from a trip to Estes Park / RMNP a few years ago. Photos I never edited or just never shared. Figured I’d start posting a few as a simple before & after series instead of letting them sit on a hard drive forever.

Nothing fancy… just getting back to enjoying it again. Enjoy the after, but keep swiping to see the before.

Do you ever go back and find photos you forgot you even took?

I’ve been working behind the scenes on something to make things a little easier for you.

Booking a session shouldn’t feel complicated.

So I finally moved everything into one place. You can see options, pick what fits, and lock in your date without the back-and-forth.

If you’ve been thinking about booking photos for your family, your senior, or your business… this is your sign.

Real talk…

90% of my job is photography.

The other 10% is:
“Hey, just act natural.”

(while holding a camera in your face)

Appreciate everyone who trusts me through that part 😅

Most mornings look a lot like this.

Early light.
Quiet.
Nowhere to be in a hurry.

Easy to miss if you’re not paying attention… but moments like this are kind of the whole point.

Not every photo session goes how you expect…

And honestly, those usually end up being the best ones.

Kids run around.
Wind doesn’t cooperate.
Someone’s laughing when they’re “not supposed to.”

That’s the stuff I’m actually looking for.

The real moments > the perfect ones.

It’s been a full week, and I’m ready for a slower pace this weekend.

Some Saturdays you’ll find me at Mack’s Golden Grounds helping Katelin behind the scenes and catching up with familiar faces as they come through the door.

But today, I get to slow down a bit, enjoy a good cup of coffee, spend some time with a book I’ve been working through, and maybe even try to perfect my latte art (still a work in progress).

It’s moments like this that remind me how much I appreciate the pace of small-town life. The connections, the conversations… It’s the same reason I love photography: capturing something real, right where people are.

I’ve got a couple of session spots left for May. If you’ve been thinking about updating family photos or just want something relaxed and easy, feel free to reach out.

Enjoy the weekend, York.

I’ve always been a believer that the right tool changes the outcome, whether that’s a piece of aerospace equipment or a camera lens.

Photography is my "reset" button. It’s where the technical side of my brain meets the creative side. I don’t spend 40 hours a week behind this lens, and that’s actually why I love it so much. It means when I am out on a shoot, I’m 100% locked in and focused on getting the shot right.

Currently prepping the gear for a few upcoming May sessions. If you appreciate a detail-oriented approach, I’d love to help you capture some family or couple portraits this spring.

When I’m not meeting a family or a couple for a session, weekends are for scouting. Sometimes I even have to head into the weeds to find the right spot! 😂 🌾

One of the perks of my mobile setup is that my "office" view changes every day. I spent some time this weekend looking for new pockets of light around York County for upcoming May sessions. There is something about the way the sun hits the treelines this time of year that you just can't replicate with a strobe in a room.

I am currently looking to fill two more weekend spots for late May. If you want to skip the stiff studio poses and get something that feels like "you," let's talk!

Question for you: If you were doing a session, would you prefer a wide-open field like this or the character of a downtown brick alleyway? Let me know in the comments! 👇
