I took the cat picture at 540PM. I took the chrysalis formation picture at 620PM. Monarchs hang in the “j” shape for about 24 hours but in a matter of an hour a chrysalis is completely formed. This one was still in the process. We know of 5 chrysalis, one more in the “j” shape, and 10 more cats on the milkw**d plus a couple wondering around...not sure if they are looking for food or their spot to metamorph. The tropical milkw**d and swamp milkw**d cultivar are completely out of leaves. The butterfly w**d doesn’t have many left but since it had more than the others we moved 6 cats there today. Hoping there is enough food for all.

I didn’t know bees came in this mini size. I had to use my thumbnail as a reference because it was so itty bitty.

While blowing bubbles for my youngest I caught one on the wand and noticed the reflection of the clouds and trees. Unfortunately my phone is also reflected. These are three of the best ones. As I was watching the bubble there was movement in the bubble itself…like oil and water mixing. The last picture it looks sort of like a skull forming in the top right of the bubble.

I have a white swamp milkw**d, a tropical milkw**d, and butterfly w**d…all three have caterpillars on them…I think each plant has had four or five every single day since we started noticing them and new ones appear as the originals start their metamorphosis. We started seeing the butterflies but had not seen a chrysalis until last night although we knew they had to be here somewhere. It really is fascinating to see how small those little cats start out until they become these big porkers before making their chrysalis. No matter which experiments in the garden fail, to have succeeded at this…it is all worth it!!!

Ant on a peony, water droplets on a leaf that made me think of a stick figure, and the start of blooms on coral honeysuckle where the picture/angle made me think of flying a kite.
