**Volunteer Hours This Week!**

We had so much fun with y'all when you were here helping us cut garlic and hang our onions in the tunnel to cure. Many of you expressed that you'd like to come back again. So, we are holding VOLUNTEER hours at the farm this week!

Come out from 10AM -1PM OR 2-5PM on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, OR Friday and help us get our garlic crop cleaned and onions up and drying!

If you can help for EITHER 3 hour time frame, we have a dozen eggs and a jar of our new dill relish with your name on it!! 🥒 🥚

A little real talk from your local farm…

We put an incredible amount of time, planning, and work into everything we grow. Months before harvest, we’re making decisions about what to plant and how much, trying to strike the balance between having enough for our customers while also not growing so much that food goes to waste.

This week reminded us how difficult that can be.

With the recent latest lettuce shortages and recalls, many people who normally shop elsewhere came looking for local lettuce. We were truly grateful to see so many new faces, but we also felt terrible that we couldn’t have enough for everyone.

The reality is we can’t predict recalls, supply chain disruptions, or shortages at large farms and retailers. We simply grow based on what we expect our regular customers will need.

If there’s one takeaway, it’s this: support your local farms before there’s a problem - not just when the food system has one. The more consistent local support is, the more confidently we can plant, invest, and grow enough food for everyone. And if recent years have shown us anything, these disruptions are becoming more common.

We’ll gladly grow for our community. We just need to know our community is growing with us. 😊
