TAKE THE PICTURE.

Even if you don't feel like you look the way you used to. Especially then.

Because someday you'll look at photographs of yourself and realize you were much harder on yourself than you needed to be.

That face you're criticizing? It's the face that lived your life.

That smile? Someone you love probably knows it by heart.

Don't wait until you think you're finally “photogenic.” You are already part of the history you're going to wish you had photographs of.

If you've been waiting for a sign to get in front of the camera, this is it.

Here's the funny thing about senior portraits...everyone thinks we're photographing who you are. We're actually photographing who you're becoming.

You haven't figured all of it out yet. That's kind of the point.

Maybe you know exactly what you want to do. Maybe you have absolutely no idea. Maybe you've changed your mind six times this week.

Good. You're 17 or 18. You're supposed to be figuring things out.

Someday you're going to look at these photographs and realize something you can't see right now. You were standing at the beginning of your own story.

If you're ready to create senior portraits that feel like you, let's talk.

Confidence doesn't always look loud. Sometimes it looks like a ballerina standing completely still.

No movement. No dramatic pose. No performance. Just posture. Presence. A quiet understanding of what she's capable of.

That's the kind of confidence I love photographing. And honestly, you don't have to be a dancer to have it.

Sometimes you just need someone behind the camera who knows how to find it. You just have to let me see you.

This is one of my favorite things about being a photographer.
You meet a couple when they're getting married. You photograph the big day. You send them off into married life.

Then one day, they come back and say... “Guess what?”
And now I'm photographing a whole new chapter.

There's something pretty damn cool about that. I got to photograph them as two people starting their life together.

Now I get to photograph them becoming three. That's the kind of full circle I never get tired of.

A portrait isn't really about what you look like...Not to me, anyway.
It's about how you see yourself. How you carry yourself. What you've been through. Who you've become.

Sometimes people come into the studio and tell me they aren't photogenic. Usually, what they really mean is they aren't used to seeing themselves the way other people see them.

That's where the magic happens.

Because the goal isn't to make you look like somebody else. It's to create a photograph that finally looks like you.

Here's the thing about wedding days...Everybody is busy trying to make sure everything happens exactly when it's supposed to.

The flowers arrive. The dress gets on. The guests sit down. The music starts. The rings are ready. The cake is where it's supposed to be.

And then the day happens anyway.

Something unexpected will happen. Someone will laugh at the wrong time. Someone will cry. Someone will make a joke. Someone will forget what they're supposed to do.

And honestly? Good.

Because when you look back at your wedding photographs, you don't want to see a perfectly controlled production. You want to see your wedding.

The real one. The one where you were actually there.

THE RULE IS SIMPLE:
No peeking. No sneaking a look at the dress. No seeing each other before the ceremony.

But... apparently nobody said anything about talking.

So there they are, separated by a wall, trying to have one last conversation before they walk down the aisle.

They can't see each other. They can't touch. But somehow hearing each other's voice makes the nerves settle down.

I love moments like this. Because the wedding hasn't started yet. The guests are waiting. The music hasn't begun. And for just a few minutes, it's not about the flowers or the dress or the ceremony.

It's just two people who really want to be next to each other.

You know what I like about anniversaries? It's not really the number. Five years. Ten years. Twenty years. Whatever the number happens to be.

It's what happened between the wedding and now. Because nobody really talks about that part.

You had the wedding. You took the pictures. Everybody celebrated. Then real life showed up.

You had good years. You had hard years. You probably had a few conversations that started with, “I'm not trying to argue, but...”

You figured things out. You changed. Your life changed. And somehow, you're still sitting next to the same person.

That's pretty damn cool.

The wedding was one day. The fact that you kept choosing each other is the part worth celebrating.

It's just one question...but somehow one question can change everything.
Will you?

Will you build a life with me? Will you choose me? Will you keep doing this crazy thing called life together?

The ring is beautiful. The location might be perfect. The photographs will be amazing.

But underneath all of it...it's really just two people deciding:
Yes. You.

HE KNOWS SOMETHING SHE DOESN'T:

He's been planning. He's checked the ring approximately 47 times. He's rehearsed what he's going to say. He's probably changed the plan at least once.

She's just having a normal day. At least she thinks she is.

Then suddenly...everything changes.

One question. One ring. One answer.

And a completely new chapter begins. That's a pretty incredible moment to witness from behind a camera.
