Your headshot is more than a photo.
It's often the first impression people have of you and your business.

Before they call, email, or schedule a meeting, they've likely already looked you up online. Does your current headshot reflect the professional you are today?

A strong headshot doesn't just show what you look like; it communicates confidence, professionalism, and approachability. It helps people feel comfortable connecting with you before you've even met.
As your business evolves, your headshot should too.
Does your current headshot still represent you?

What Is Your Headshot Really Costing You?

Your headshot is often the first handshake you’ll never have.

Before someone calls you, schedules a meeting, or responds to your email, chances are they’ve already looked you up online. In just a few seconds, they’ve formed an opinion about you, and that opinion can influence whether they decide to do business with you.

An outdated or unprofessional headshot can quietly cost you more than you realize.

It can make you appear less current, less credible, or less approachable. It can create hesitation where there should be confidence. And in business, hesitation often means someone moves on to the next person.

A great headshot does more than make you look good. It tells people you’re professional, confident, trustworthy, and someone worth getting to know. It reinforces your personal brand before you’ve said a single word.

The truth is, you may never know how many opportunities you’ve missed because someone didn’t feel a connection when they landed on your website or LinkedIn profile.

A professional headshot isn’t an expense—it’s an investment in your reputation. If it helps you earn just one new client, land one speaking engagement, or build one valuable relationship, it has already paid for itself.

So here’s the question:

Is your current headshot opening doors… or quietly closing them?

Every person who steps in front of my camera has a story.

Some are celebrating a milestone.
Some are beginning a new chapter.
Some simply want to remember this season before it changes.

That's what I love most about this work, the conversations, the connections, and the moments that matter most.

Because photography isn't just about beautiful portraits.

It's about celebrating people and preserving their stories. 🤍

If you were planning a portrait session today, what would it celebrate?

Some of my favorite family portraits aren't the ones where everyone is looking at the camera.

They're the quiet smiles.

The shared glances.

The little moments that remind you how your family feels right now.

Years from now, those moments often become the ones you treasure most.

🤍 That's what I hope every family takes home from their session.

People sometimes ask me what my favorite part of photography is.

It isn't the camera.
It isn't the lighting.
It isn't even creating the final portrait.
It's the moment when someone stops worrying about how they look and starts feeling like themselves.
Watching confidence replace nervousness is something I'll never get tired of.
That's why I love what I do.
Every portrait tells a story, but my favorite part is helping people see themselves the way the people who love them already do.

💛 I'd love to know, what's your favorite part of what you do each day?

One of my favorite things about sharing behind-the-scenes moments is showing that a portrait session is about so much more than standing in front of a camera.

When Janeen came in for her session, we worked through different looks, but the heart of the experience stayed the same. We talked, laughed, collaborated, and took our time creating portraits that felt authentic to her.

After her session, Janeen shared such a thoughtful review. What stood out to me most wasn't just that she loved her portraits, it was how she described the experience of feeling comfortable, supported, and genuinely cared for throughout the process.

That is always my goal.

Beautiful portraits are important, but I hope every client leaves with something even more meaningful: confidence, encouragement, and the feeling of being truly seen.

Thank you, Janeen Norquist , for trusting me to tell part of your story.

One of the greatest compliments I can receive isn't just that someone loves their portraits, it's hearing that they genuinely enjoyed the experience.

Many people tell me they feel a little nervous before stepping in front of the camera. That's completely normal. My goal is to create an environment where you can relax, be yourself, and feel supported every step of the way.

I'm so grateful to Bob for sharing these kind words after his headshot session:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

"Becky transforms a normal photo session into something genuinely enjoyable. Her infectious energy and warm personality immediately puts one at ease... She doesn't just take photos; she creates images that truly capture the essence of your personality."

Thank you, Bob, for trusting me with your professional portraits and for taking the time to share your experience. It truly means so much.

If you've been putting off updating your headshot because you're worried about feeling awkward in front of the camera, I hope this encourages you. You don't have to know what to do, that's what I'm here for.

I'd love to help you create portraits that feel authentic to you.

One of the most rewarding parts of my job isn't just creating beautiful portraits.

It's hearing what clients say after their session.
Many people arrive feeling nervous or wondering if they'll know what to do.

By the time we're finished, I often hear things like:
"That was actually fun."
"You made posing so easy."
"I can't believe that's me."

Those moments remind me that portrait photography is about so much more than taking pictures.
It's about helping people feel comfortable, confident, and truly seen.
Swipe through to read a few of the things I hear most often after a session.
Which one do you think you'd say?

There are moments in this job that remind me why I love what I do.

When Janeen saw her portraits for the first time, she didn't just see a professional headshot.

She saw the woman she has become.

She saw strength. Joy. Authenticity. A smile that wasn't posed, but reflected a life she's worked hard to build.

One of my favorite parts of working with clients isn't simply creating beautiful portraits: it's watching them recognize themselves in a new way.

Janeen shared something that means the world to me:

"She doesn't simply capture what you look like, she creates an experience that allows your authentic self to shine through."

That is exactly what I hope every client experiences.

From planning outfits together to creating a relaxed session where laughter replaces nervousness, my goal is to guide each person through an experience where they can simply be themselves.

Because these portraits aren't just about how you look.

They're about celebrating who you are today.

Thank you, Janeen Norquist, for trusting me with your story and for sharing such kind words. It was an honor to walk alongside you in this experience. ❤️

I'd love to know… have you ever seen a photograph that truly felt like you?
