|07/13/2025| I have spent a lot of birthdays on the road throughout the years. Looking back it feels like I have been gone more than I have been in town.

On the last day of our baseball stadium road trip we made the 4+ hour drive to Yosemite. I could tell they wanted to just chill in the city but it was my birthday and I wasn’t having it. I set my alarm early and had to be pretty persuasive to get everyone moving. I know how special of a place it is and that once we made it there they would understand. The granite walls are truly iconic and you can feel the energy while standing in the valley.

This was my second time going there. I was kinda bummed we had to do a hike that I had already done but we didn’t have many other options. Not once on that hike did it feel repetitive. I felt that same rush I did the first time I stepped foot there. It was cool to see my younger brother sprinting up the mountain and checking out the views. My dad looked like a survivor from a crashed airplane and we all made the most of it😂

The hike took us the entire day and at the end I got lost… I took a wrong turn towards the bottom of the mountain. My phone was dead but I had my brothers. I was able to use Siri to call them and leave messages. I called a bunch of times and never got an answer. The voicemails were pretty funny. I eventually found a lady sitting on a rock in the middle of a stream reading a book. I felt bad disturbing her peace and she jumped once she finally realized I was trying to get her attention. She was very sweet and put me in the right direction to the road. The sun would be setting soon and the last place you wanna be is a lone in the woods once that happens.

Once I made it to the road I started walking to try and find the trailhead. Not too long after I saw them across the river. They didn’t have a care in the world. On their phone, CHILLING!!! I yelled at them and asked why they didn’t answer my calls. allegedly they didn’t see it… We laughed about it, they told me I was dumb and that I’m supposed to be the expert😂

I couldn’t have asked for a better way to spend my 27th birthday

|08/25/2022| Lake Superior Provincial Park. A magnificent place. Hard to believe it’s been 3 years since I went there. These should have been posted a long time ago but better late than never I guess…

There is a long history of people going there from Bill and Paul’s. I remember hearing the stories and going through the old scrap book and thinking that I have to get there. Cary used to go with the shop when he was around my age. Was cool to be able to recreate some of the old Polaroids.

One of the funniest moments of the trip was when Cary lost connection to his drone. Dropped everything and sprinted up a cliff. I finished my drink, made my way up to see him ecstatic with his drone in hand. Regained connection at the top. Our first night was spent drinking bourbon over a massive fire. I kept checking to see if the stars were popping out. It was started to get late but I had to check one last time. Sure enough there was the Milky Way shining over Lake Superior. It’s always that last time…

We didn’t know each other super well before the trip but there is something about being in the wilderness that can bond people for life. I will never forget that trip. Maybe it’s the isolation, maybe it’s the thrill of packing up all my belongings into a kayak and hoping that Superior stays calm. Whatever it is it impacted my life and I hope to get back there one day🤙🏼

Making these leaf-bleached hoodies has honestly felt like therapy—except for the times I accidentally inhale too much bleach... Each one feels personal, like I’m leaving a piece of myself in every one.

Pricing them has been tough. More than anything, I want people to wear and enjoy what I create but I also need to honor the time and energy I put in. Taking two hours to make one sweatshirt might be the least efficient thing I could do 😂😂 But I’m not complaining. I genuinely love the process.

I’m still figuring out when and how I’ll release them. I’m planning to experiment next with bleaching some tees and Levi jeans, so I might wait and drop everything together. It’s hard for me to say goodbye to things I care about and these are something I have put a great deal of effort in.

The last slide shows a bench that my grandfather made. He would find leaves from his backyard and imprint them into concrete. He has so many cool random creations and was such a handy man. I would have loved to show him the things I have been able to create. As a kid he taught me how to express my creativity. We do it in different ways but I know a piece of him lives on in me❤️

Heading to California for a couple weeks. Bee. Awhile since I hit the road 🤙🏼

Took my little brother on his first trip to the UP. Almost smoked a deer on the way up but thanks to my cat like reflexes just scraped the tail. Took this from our campsite off the side of the road. Didn’t have a tripod so I had to get creative and use my camp chair. Was stoked when I realized I got the shooting star in it. Edited the photo in Black Rocks Brewery the next day. Had a great time showing him northern Michigan and sharing my love for the outdoors. Quote of the trip: “When I die lather me in DB (Doctor Bronner’s) and set me free.”

Photographing the night sky has been my favorite since I was 16 and got to see the northern lights. I didn’t really know what I was doing then but I loved the unpredictability of it and how there are so many variables that go into one single photo. I have planned entire trips to shoot the night sky and ended up getting nothing because of the weather.

Looking up at the stars reminds me of my place in the universe and how vast it is. I think about how my existence is just a spec but at the same time, it feels important. I contemplate if there is other life out there doing the exact thing… Are alien photographers a thing? I search the sky in hopes of one day seeing a UAP for myself; however, what I am left with is satellites getting in the way of my photos.

Maybe what I like most about taking photos of the stars is how you have to get away from civilization. This photo was taken on my last trip where I was kayaking in Lake Superior Provincial Park. We went days without seeing anyone and on the first night, we were blessed with a magnificent view of the milky way. To be honest, I am a little surprised the photos turned out the way they did because at this point of the night we were multiple whiskey glasses deep, pushing the wee hours of the morning.

What is it like to travel a lone?

It’s quiet, exhausting, gets lonely sometimes, beautiful, adventurous, and freeing. Traveling by myself has taught me many things… To start it has taught me that’s it is okay to be a lone. Live a life that makes you happy make and make decisions based on that. Don’t get caught up on which path to take but instead enjoy the route you are on. There are no wrong decisions just different paths to take.

I often try to make friends with strangers. Has this gotten me into some sketchy situations YES😂😂 but it also has allowed me to meet some incredible people. You never know who you will come in contact with. Be open minded. Nobody really knows what the f**k they are doing in this life but there is always something you can learn from hearing people’s stories and how they view the world. With time you will start to realize that no matter where you are there are core values that bring us together.

I am far from equipped to tell someone how they should choose to live; however, I think there is so much to learn from traveling. It’s something I hope to share with others for the rest of my life and why I am so passionate about starting Wolf. I see how much it has impacted me and think it’s something everyone deserves to experience.
