Today my dad turns 80 and also marries his sweetheart. My family is big and loud and often pure chaos... like the house from “Home Alone” (complete with our own Buzz and Uncle Frank), but dang, we sure do love the crap out of each other.

In January, my father was diagnosed with stage IV esophageal cancer that had spread to his brain. He was given 6 months to live. This week, almost 10 months later, London and I are on the east coast to celebrate his 80th birthday and also photograph his wedding (proving love can be found at any age)!
I am so excited to spend time with family and honor this man who proved to doctors that anything is possible.

4 fun facts about me you might not know:

1. I have been a winning contestant on two game shows: Are you Smarter than a Fifth Grader in 2009 (I won $300k) and The Price is Right (I won a luxury travel trailer, a BBQ, air hockey table, and more) in 2019.

2. I never planned or had a dream to be a photographer. I graduated with a degree in theater and art history from NYU and picked up a camera for the first time in 2015. I became a full time wedding photographer in 2017 and was named Top 100 Wedding Photographers in the World in 2018.

3. I gave birth to my daughter, London, in our home in Santa Monica. I wasn’t originally planning on having a home birth but wanted a water birth and once I learned about home birth I knew it was the best fit for my plan. She was born in the water in a birth tub in her bedroom 7 hours after I went into labor.

4. I can wiggle my ears like Alfalfa from Little Rascals!

*story: during the ceremony, they had a lot of incense burning throughout the church. I noticed the light beams forming and landing on the guests in the pews. After the ceremony was over, we had very little time to take family photos and head to the reception. Once everyone headed out, I sat my second shooter in the pew to test the light. I then asked the couple if we could take a few minutes to try something. They agreed, and this was the result!
