The 2011 boys cross country team at Quaker Valley is celebrating the 15th anniversary of its historic season. And the former QV athletes will be acknowledged in style as part of the Class of 2026 being inducted into the Quaker Valley Sports Hall of Fame — honoring their championship success

Jonah Montagnese raced to a 5th place finish in the mile at the New Balance Nationals today in Philadelphia. With that finish, Jonah became the first male athlete in the country to become a 2 time All American this weekend. Jonah's time of 4:06 was just 5 seconds off of the winning mark. Tomorrow, Jonah will join Ryan Kempton, James Irwin and Connor West in the distance medley relay. The girls' team of Mia Gartley, Lucy Montagnese, Rose Pocasangre and Maggie Doz will represent Quaker Valley in the girls championship race.

Yesterday, Jonah Montagnese placed 3rd in the nation and became the first QV track athlete to achieve All American status. He finished the 2 mile in an impressive 8:52. Jonah has 2 more races this weekend starting with the championship mile today at 5:00.

Three members of the Quaker Valley track team traveled to the New Balance outdoor championshiips and came away with some very impressive results. Freshman Henry Howard became the second fastest freshman miler in QV history running a 4:31.16. Leo Tyson set the 8th grade mile record with a time of 4:39.15. He is the first QV middle schooler to break the 4:40 barrier. Also running was Landon Conley. His time of 4:49.95 is the 3rd fastest in QV history.
