All of the families I have worked with for the Front Porch Project have touched my heart. However, none have quite represented the enormity of the coronavirus pandemic quite as much as this one has. Both parents are essential workers, one in healthcare. They have 5 incredible children, two of whom are at a higher risk due to immune complications. Because of this and the nature of their jobs, they are living apart from two of their own children to protect them. While Aaliyah and Wyllo are having a great time with their grandparents, it is still so very hard for everyone. I was only able to photograph 6 of the 7 members of their family, but doing so broke my heart. I can't imagine their pain right now, but their bravery is inspiring. So much love to Casey and Xavier during this time. You are such strong parents, I am in awe of you. Thank you is not enough for the sacrifice you are making to make sure that your essential jobs are done.
