"You spend years watching one follow just a few steps behind the other. Watching little hands reach for big hands. Watching one become the example without ever realizing she is.
One more bedtime story before lights out. Late night talks and inside jokes. One always waiting for the other to get home.
And then one day graduation arrives.
People talk a lot about how hard it is for parents to let go, but no one really talks about the little sister standing quietly beside her realizing her childhood is changing too.
Growing up doesn't just happen to the child who leaves- it happens to the ones staying behind, too.
Motherhood isn't just watching one child chase her dreams- it's being there while the other one learns that loving someone sometimes means cheering for them as they go."
This session gave me all the emotions- I can't wait to watch both of their stories unfold!
