The Hotel Carrasco began in 1912, however, building was suspended for 9 years due to WWI. It was finally completed and opened in 1921. Still operating today under Sofitel management, it is an Official Historical heritage landmark in Uruguay.

Nothing like capturing a perfect sunrise in Punta del Este! Known as the Monaco of South America, a rare place on the continent where one can capture a sunrise and sunset in the same town. Sunrise over the Atlantic and sunset over the River Plate.

Casa Pueblo, Punta Ballena, Uruguay. Built by Uruguayan artist, Carlos Páez Vilaró, who lived in it most of his life. It was designed to evoke impressions of Santorini.

Interesting fact: his son, Carlos Páez Rodríguez, was one of the 16 survivors of the 1972 Andes plane crash with an Uruguayan soccer team.
