a few images from an investigation carried out in 2023 at one of few broiler chicken farms in portugal.

the investigation documented severe welfare issues, including splayed legs of chickens that make it impossible for birds to walk normally, as well as brutal and careless treatment of animals by workers.

these chickens are bred to grow unnaturally fast, at the cost of their health, mobility but even if that problem is solved animals win anything? I don’t think so. what animals want is freedom from being exploited and not condemned as objects.

what’s not visible on daily basis for people comes to the light because of tremendous work of undercover investigations.

part of pig farming is the process of so called „veterinary care” procedures.

done mostly by the workers instead of veterinary.

castration, tail docking, teeth trimming, all without any pain relief.

a paradox that we call deliberate mutilation of animals their care.
in ANY form of animal farming individual animals disappear in numbers, targeted weights, and production cycles where pain, fear, and stress are reduced to „waste” or „inefficiency”.

what should be care becomes control and what should be life becomes torture.

a typical look into farm where frogs are bred for purpose of their flesh.

while part of the production always goes to the local markets, the majority is exported to singapore.

frogs spend their entire short lives confined in bare concrete pens, with only a minimal amount of water, far from what these animals need to survive in humane conditions which is nothing in common with their natural habitat. overcrowding and stress are constant and cases of cannibalism are common, with animals feeding on dead or dying individuals. this is industrial farming hidden behind closed doors.

from tiny juveniles to mature ones, dead sharks are being killed together with various species of rays each single day. according to IUCN over one-third of these species are endangered, yet the world looks away and do nothing yet everyone knows without them, oceans cannot function properly without no natural balance, exploding fish populations and collapsing reefs. when we think they’re dangerous to human the fact is we are dangerous ones slaughtering them for their flesh, fins and entertainment all around the world.

simply you can do is to let them be in oceans, not on your plate.

one year ago, together with .animals, we walked into a pig slaughterhouse in Vietnam. thanks to the relentless work of and .org.vn , we’re finally witnessing the release of Vietnam’s first campaign fighting for farmed animals.

that day changed me in every possible way. the moment Amy and I locked eyes, we both understood the horror that was unfolding.

within fifteen minutes, our faces and legs were splattered with warm blood and our breaths were heavy. even after years spent documenting animal suffering, that experience was simply too much to endure.

we both had visited many slaughterhouses and what I call “sh*thole” farms before, but no amount of experience can prepare you for witnessing innocent beings lose their lives surrounded by terror like that.

what’s worse, as says, this is the daily reality for animals across Southeast Asia. pigs are killed fully conscious, forced to watch their companions die one after another.

this campaign is not only about demanding better and bringing change for those who have none, but also about telling the stories of those who are never seen and never will be, without our work.

this summer me and fellow activists investigated an industrial rabbit farm. what we’ve seen was beyond any words, neither expectations.

a couple weeks ago we went back again and what we found surprised us.

the farm doesn’t work any longer, nothing just silence.

until all cages are empty 🙏🏻
