We are freelance photographers and English teachers living in Vietnam, with a particular interest in portraiture, narrative, landscape, nature, and travel photography. As explorers at heart, We've had the privilege of traveling to a variety of amazing locations throughout the world with our cameras in hand. What first attracted us to travel photography was a couple of years spent living and workin
g in Vietnam – a stark contrast to our native Philippines. We prefer to equate our experience living abroad to that of a child—seeing things for the first time, hearing a new language for the first time, and embarking on a journey to acquire a new set of cultural norms. Even the simplest chores become new experiences, and each experience requires your whole concentration. With a lifelong love of photography, we've determined that the best way to record all of these new sensory experiences would be via a lens. We've always been creative, but until we found photography, we struggled to have a genuine connection to our work. With previous creative forms, namely painting and drawing, we've discovered that it was very simple to conceive an artwork, but that its execution often fell short of my expectations. Through photography, we were able to develop the capacity to transform a concept into a finished result that we were pleased with. As frenetic people, the physical elements of photography—walking about investigating, adjusting the camera's settings, focusing the lens, and actuating the shutter—further linked us to art, enabling us to maintain an intense concentration on our work. While some photographers prefer a controlled setting, the excitement of the unknown in the outdoors drives us to produce additional snaps.
