It’s the first day with Anthony & Haze in Samui for their wedding, and they surprised me with a gift that carries so much love, care, and intention.

Anthony told me, “The whole thing was designed and carefully thought out to be as close as possible to what you’d love.”

And you can really see it in the details, the denim background in the logo (because they know I’m a denim person), the golden stitching made from materials I truly appreciate… everything feels so personal. It’s honestly perfect. I’m a bit lost for words.

This is something money can’t buy. We met as strangers at a friend’s wedding, became friends during their pre-wedding trip in Vietnam, and shared so many stories and moments along the way. From there, trust naturally grew. And by the time their wedding day came, I was there to witness one of the most meaningful chapters of their lives.

Thank you for the friendship, the love, and all the kindness you’ve given me, Anthony & Haze.

When your wedding photos truly belong to who you are, not a checklist of “best shots,” but a reflection of how it actually felt everything flows differently.
Just the parts that felt right to them.
Danielle once told me something that stayed with me long after our conversation:
“Our wedding will not be very ‘traditional’ in a regular western sense. We will arrive together and will not walk down an aisle. A close friend is acting as our celebrant, but we have no wedding party and are essentially just choosing the parts of a wedding that feel like us and ignoring the rest. We’re not really interested in the traditional ‘preparation shots’ (I don’t know what people do with pictures of their wedding shoes or dress hanging up, but its not something we need). But we are gathering family and friends from all over the world (quite literally). It is the first time our families will meet one another and a very rare chance for us to have everyone we love who are normally very far apart all in one place. From that perspective photos of our wedding will be very cherished.”
And that honesty shaped everything.
Family and friends travelled from everywhere — Kenya, Australia, America… For many, it was the first time both families met.
In a world where distance is normal, this was rare.
Everyone they love, in one place.
And that says everything about love.
Their day wasn’t defined by structure, but by connection.
Quiet at times. Chaotic at others. Joyful all the way through.
Kids running around.
Conversations flowing.
Laughter filling the spaces in between.
Nothing staged. Nothing forced. Just real.
I wasn’t there to direct anything. Just to witness.
