A Ferragosto relaunch for Calabria

Some of you may remember my earlier book, Calabria by Car. Over the past year, I went back through the entire book, corrected it, revised it and checked the information as carefully as I could.

The result is Experience Calabria Slowly, a substantially revised edition built around the way I think Calabria is best experienced: taking your time, getting off the main routes and spending time in the towns, villages, landscapes and places that make the region what it is.

To mark Ferragosto, I’m making the Kindle edition free for two days, August 14 and 15.

The full-colour print edition is also available now. I’m preparing a lower-priced black-and-white print edition for readers who want the book mainly as a practical travel companion rather than a colour keepsake.

If you downloaded or bought Calabria by Car previously, this is not simply a new cover. The book has been corrected and substantially revised throughout.

This may not be as interesting as some posts of mine but. I’ve spent the last year putting together a very Canadian, cultivation reference based on my grows and real systems, practical not influencer fluff.
Amazon has it classified in a restricted category, so ads are off the table as well as sales, but they do allow occasional free days so this one’s for you.

My wife and I spent 25 days driving the full circumference of Calabria, criss-crossing from mountains to coast the entire way around. The journey was so rich and detailed that we broke it into focused volumes.
The first book, Calabria by Car - Coast to Coast, covers the route from Pizzo through the Tyrrhenian coast, across the mountains and down to Roccella Ionica on the Ionian side. A lot of what we learned was from this group talking about real villages, local food, back roads and everyday rhythm rather than tourist checklists.
